Wang Wenju Visits Zhejiang Gongshang University, Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics, and Zhejiang Financial College

To strengthen inter-university cooperation and promote the high-quality development of finance and economics education, Wang Wenju, Party Secretary of CUEB, led a delegation to Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJGSU), Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics (ZUFE), and Zhejiang Financial College (ZJFC) from May 13 to 15, 2025. They had an in-depth discussion on high-quality development, economics discipline development, personnel education, research cooperation, and integration between industry and education, aiming to draw a blueprint for the high-quality development of finance and economics education.

During the visit to ZJGSU, Wang Yonggui, President of ZJGSU, warmly welcomed Wang Wenju and his delegation, briefing the school’s history and its development in discipline development, faculty building, and social services. He hoped to deepen cooperation between the two universities to advance high-level university construction. Heads of ZJGSU’s Party Affairs Office, Graduate School, Discipline Construction Office, and School of Economics joined the discussion. Subsequently, Wang Wenju and his delegation visited ZJGSU’s School of Economics. Dean Niu Zhiwei introduced the school’s development, and both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on enhancing the quality of economics discipline construction, evaluating development trends, and establishing distinctive disciplinary teams.

During the visit to ZUFE, Wei Jiang, President of ZUFE and Li Jinchang, Chairman of the University Development Committee, warmly received the delegation led by Wang Wenju. Wei Jiang showcased the university’s distinctive achievements in discipline development, personal training, scientific research, with particular emphasis on the “New Finance and Economics Strategy”. He anticipated for strengthened collaboration between both parties in resource sharing, joint research projects, and collaborative course development to pursue high-quality development. Following the symposium, Wang’s delegation visited the ZUFE’s Nobel Prize in Economics Literature Museum and the Sun Yefang Economic Science Award Literature Museum. Representatives from ZUFE’s Party School Office and the School of Economics participated in the meeting.

During the visits to both universities, Wang highly commended the distinctive features and achievements of ZJSU and ZUFE, expressing gratitude for their warm reception while introducing CUEB’s recent educational accomplishments. He emphasized that universities specializing in Finance and Economics, given their high disciplinary compatibility and solid cooperative foundation, should proactively serve national strategies through inter-university collaborative innovation to address disciplinary homogenization challenges and forge differentiated development pathways. Wang proposed establishing regular mutual-visit mechanisms among such universities to strengthen mutual learning, enhance communication, and achieve mutual benefits. He advocated a deepened collaboration in professional personnel training, faculty-student exchanges, and integrated internship-practical training programs to collectively contribute to the nation’s aspiration to become a prominent hub in education.

Additionally, Wang Wenju’s delegation visited ZFC for field research. They toured the Monetary Finance Expo Museum, Financial Instruments Expo Museum, and Sino-Czech Exchange Center. Discussions were held with Jin Yanghua, the Party Secretary of ZFC, along with heads of the School of International Business, Czech Research Center, and European Economy and Finance Research Center. The exchanges focused on connecting industry and education, serving local industrial development, and enhancing student professional internships and practical training.

Zhang Tong, Director of the Party and Government Office, along with Du Wencui, Dean of the School of Economics, and Du Pengcheng, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics from CUEB participated in the activities.
