CUEB Granted Approval for Two New Undergraduate Programs:Auditing, Network and New Media
CUEB has recently secured approval from the Ministry of Education (MOE) to launch two new undergraduate programs: Auditing, Network and New Media.
The Auditing program responds to the pressing demand for digital transformation in the auditing profession in the era of the digital economy. Drawing on CUEB’s traditional strengths in economics and business, the program integrates cutting-edge technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and digital risk control, breaking down the barriers of conventional auditing education. Built on its well-established system for cultivating digital-intelligent personnel, it embeds core courses—including Big Data and Intelligent Auditing, IT Auditing, and Big Data Analysis and Intelligent Decision-Making in Government Auditing—throughout the training process. By setting up digital-intelligence laboratories and a full-process practical training platform, the program promotes industry-education integration and the convergence of science and education. It aims to cultivate high-caliber, interdisciplinary intelligent auditing professionals who are well versed in auditing standards and financial and accounting knowledge, proficient in digital tools, and equipped with risk identification and professional judgment capabilities. The program meets the demand for digital auditing positions in enterprises, public institutions, government regulators, and accounting firms, contributing to the modernization of the economic supervision system and the improvement of governance effectiveness.
Keeping pace with the digital and intelligent transformation of the media industry, the Network and New Media program serves the practical needs of the capital’s cultural and tourism industry development and the upgrading of Convergence Media, creating a differentiated training model of “digital intelligence plus media”. Leveraging CUEB’s disciplinary strengths in economics and management, the program brings together journalism and communication, computer science and technology, and art and design. It focuses on developing digital skills such as AI-powered content creation, public opinion assessment, and data analysis, going beyond the traditional boundaries of journalism and communication education. The program is designed to cultivate interdisciplinary media professionals equipped with humanistic and artistic grounding, digital media literacy, and cross-media technological skills. Graduates can meet diverse workforce demands in convergence media editing and production, new media product design and operation, and online public opinion governance, and serving the high-quality development of the capital’s digital cultural industry.
In recent years, anchored in its goal of building itself into a high-level research-oriented university, CUEB has aligned its development with the needs of building Beijing into a global digital economy benchmark city for the digital economy. The university has continuously implemented the “Zhuoyu (literally Jade Polishing) Initiative” for improving personnel cultivation quality, comprehensively advanced the structural optimization of undergraduate programs and their digital and intelligent renewal, and built an “AI+” program matrix.
Looking ahead, CUEB will continue to implement the “Zhuoyu Initiative”, deepen digital-intelligent teaching reform in an all-round way, and strengthen the effectiveness of industry-education collaboration in personnel cultivation, so as to cultivate more high-calibre professionals in innovative finance and economics to serve major national strategies and the capital’s development in the new era.
