Wu Weixing warmly welcomed Fan Wenzhong and his team, expressing his earnest expectations for deeper cooperation between the two sides. He provided an insightful overview of CUEB’s history, academic achievements, and dedication to fostering interdisciplinary innovation and the practical application of research findings. Wu emphasized the significance of the digital economy as a pivotal direction for the university’s future development and the acceleration of a high-level new think tank. With the establishment of the Institute of Beijing Digital Economy Development (IBDED), CUEB actively contributes to Beijing’s goal of becoming a global benchmark city for the digital economy. The institute aims to build an integrated platform that encompasses research, training, and social services. He acknowledged the BIBDE’s pioneering role in data rights confirmation, transaction circulation, cross-border data transfer, and industry standards. These efforts are crucial for the development of Beijing’s “two zones” (namely, the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone). Additionally, he expressed his hope to deepen cooperation with the BIBDE in the future, contributing collective wisdom and strength to the construction of Beijing as a global digital economy benchmark city.
