CUEB Holds Students Forum for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese

On the afternoon of December 4, a student forum for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese was held in the Tianlang Hall on the second floor of Boyuan Building. Chen Yanbin, a member of the Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee and Vice President, attended the forum and delivered a speech. 8 student representatives participated in the forum and exchanged views. It was presided over by Liu Wenchuan, Director of the Office for HK Macao &TW Affairs.

At the forum, Chen Yanbin expressed deep concern and high expectations for the students. He emphasized that CUEB prioritized the growth and development of these students and would provide full support for their learning, maximizing their personal potential. Chen also pointed out that these students are an important part of CUEB’s multi-culture. They should participate in diverse activities, explore more new ways, and embrace new knowledge with an open mind, laying a solid foundation for their future careers.

The 8 students shared their daily life and cultural background, demonstrating their special perspectives and insights. Then, Chen presented gifts to each of them.

Liu Wenchuan announced the winners of the 2024 Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Scholarship. Di Nuoyan, a representative of the winners and a 2022 graduate majoring in Labor Relations from the School of Labor Economics, shared her experiences of comprehensive development since entering CUEB.

During the discussion, attendees shared their ideas and suggestions for their studies, life, and career planning. Xiao Jiangwen introduced CUEB student affairs, including ideological and political education, the second classroom, employment and entrepreneurship, and mental health, offering guidance for their growth and development. Wu Ke introduced daily management, national condition education, and scholarship applications for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese, supporting their studies and lives. Relevant departments and heads of CUEB also gave their answers to the students’ questions.

The symposium concluded successfully, demonstrating CUEB’s great emphasis on Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan work and concern for every student from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities. The Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office would follow CUEB’s relevant requirements and work with relevant departments to carry out the service management for them. It would provide special symposia, practices, and lectures to support their overall development, enhancing their sense of belonging, identity, and ideological consensus to act on the fundamental task of fostering virtues through education.
