CUEB Hosts Meeting for "Colorful Beijing, Youth Blooming"
On the afternoon of April 15, CUEB convened the meeting for the “Colorful Beijing, Youth Blooming” Campaign (short for the Campaign) in 2024 in Conference Room 2 of the Boyuan Building. Xu Fang, CUEB Deputy Party Secretary,attended the meeting and delivered an inspiring speech. Fu Lin, member of the Standing Committee of the CUEB Party Committee and Minister of the Party Committee Publicity Department, presided over the meeting.
Xu Fang commended the achievements of the implementation of the Campaign’s mechanisms at CUEB in 2023, and put forward suggestions for future endeavors.
• Firstly, prioritize efforts by leveraging the abundant resources available in Beijing to guide students in practice, so as to better foster personnel with culture and contribute to the construction of Beijing as the national cultural center.
• Secondly, seize the new opportunities in culture and education to enhance the sense of involvement, accomplishment, and honor among all participants at CUEB. We hope for the success of the Campaign to facilitate the cultivation of culturally adept individuals.
• Thirdly, leverage CUEB’s professional advantages to effectively present the Campaign’s accomplishments and students’ feelings, creating a distinctive cultural education brand with the unique characteristics of CUEB.
• Fourthly, strengthen coordinated efforts to explore new forms and involve all professional personnel to highlight the distinctive features of CUEB.
• Fifthly, align with the directives from higher authorities, ensure effective project application and publicity, make regular progress assessments, and use media platforms to raise students’ interest and enhance their cultural knowledge and overall capacities.
Fu Lin introduced the Campaign’s background and CUEB’s general progress in 2023. As one of the pioneering 16 universities to participate in the initiative, CUEB embraced 6 targets across 4 mechanisms, encompassing theoretical research and publicity, revolutionary culture research, volunteering, and high-quality development of Beijing Cultural Industrial Parks. Through joint efforts, CUEB has established a communication and consultation mechanism that has yielded great achievements, including the “Outstanding Organization Award” and extensive reports in renowned mainstream media outlets like Beijing Daily and The Beijing News.
Gao Fei, Vice Minister of the Party Committee Publicity Department of CUEB, conveyed the essence of the meeting for the Campaign.
Subsequently, leaders from the School of Marxism, the School of Culture and Communication, and the CUEB Youth League Committee engaged in active discussions. They summarized their progress, shared experiences, analyzed current challenges, and then envisioned the upcoming work plan.
