School of Finance Participates in the 13th China Regional Finance Annual Meeting
From April 19 to 20, the 13th China Regional Finance Annual Meeting was successfully convened in Qingdao. This meeting, co-hosted by China Regional Finance Annual Meeting Council, Qingdao University and China Regional Economic Association Regional Finance Committee, was organized by the School of Economics of Qingdao University, Qingdao Financial Research Institute of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and Qingdao Society for Finance and Banking, and co-organized by Eastern Forum Journal of Qingdao University (Social Science Edition). The meeting featured 5 keynote speeches and 19 academic sub-forums, attracting nearly 300 economic and financial scholars from over 90 universities nationwide. These scholars engaged in profound exchanges on financial empowerment and the pursuit of high-quality regional economic growth.
Professor Wu Weixing delivers a keynote speech
President Wu Weixing, CUEB’s Deputy Party Secretary, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech titled “Household Debt: Facts, risks and solutions”. From the perspective of the household unit, Wu highlighted the disparity between household finance and wealth, analyzed the associated risks and opportunities of household debt, and proposed measures to enhance financial literacy, add statutory disclosure mandates, and improve the financial system’s ability to serve households.

Sha Yezhou, Professor of the Department of Financial Engineering, School of Finance, presided over the academic sub-forum. Shi Yunhui, Wang Yuan and Zhang Gaoming, doctoral students of the School of Finance, attended the meeting and made academic reports on topics including “Securities Lending System and Informed Trading Probability: From the perspective of chain board network”, “Geopolitical Risks and International Securities Capital Flow Network”, and “The Impact of High-quality International Trade on Employment in Imports and Exports: A global value chain perspective”. They engaged in fruitful academic exchanges with teachers, students and scholars from esteemed institutions such as Xiamen University, Ocean University of China, and Nanchang University.
