Wang Wenju and Wu Weixing Investigate Some Schools
Recently, Wang Wenju, the new CUEB Party Secretary and Wu Weixing, the new CUEB Deputy Party Secretary and President respectively inspected some schools to further study and implement theme education of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era , thus developing a comprehensive understanding of the situation in each school through such in-depth and substantive research work. They were accompanied by Xu Fang and Meng Bo, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, Li Xiaomu, Vice President, Yao Linxiu and Chen Yanbin, members of the Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee and Vice President.
Wang Wenju investigated School of Law, School of Urban Economics and Public Administration, School of Marxism Studies, School of International Education, School of Continuing Education, Business School, School of Statistics and School of Data Science. After listening to work reports from these schools, Wang had discussions with leaders and teacher representatives, and encouraged them to integrate Party building at grassroots with school development.
In School of Law, Wang expressed the hope that the school couldlearn from past experiences and find out limitations to make new breakthroughs in discipline construction and doctoral program application. He also expected that the school could take good advantage of undergraduate education evaluation to further highlight characteristics of personnel training.In School of Urban Economics and Public Administration, Wangexpected that the school could do a good job in the application of doctoral programs for the first-level discipline of Public Administration, in a bid to further enhance the competence to servecapital development in the new era. In School of Marxism Studies, Wang highlighted the need to promote high-quality development, prioritize the reform and innovation of ideological and political courses, and optimize second-level discipline system through a new round of doctoral program cultivation and application. In School of International Education, Wang stressed the need to broaden the mind, innovate enrollment, expand enrollment scale and create a distinctive brand of international student education. In School of Continuing Education and Business School, Wang remarked that the school would further strengthen coordinated management of cooperative education and do a good job in education and teaching to promote employment. In School of Statistics and School of Data Science, Wang stressed the need to introduce high-quality resources to build a strong faculty, emphasize the teaching of basic mathematics,expand new channelsto promote cooperative education with foreign universities, giving a full play to discipline advantages.
President Wu Weixing investigated International School of Economics and Management, School of Accounting, School of Culture and Communication,School of Foreign Studies and Overseas Chinese College. Wu listened to reports from schools, held discussions with leaders and teacher representatives,and then visited the New Business Smart Learning Center, Humanities and Media Experimental Education Center and Overseas Chinese Donation Exhibition Hall.
In International School of Economics and Management, Wu expressed the hope that the school wouldfurther build research teams and make more efforts in the application of major and key projects to bring forth higher level research achievements.In School of Accounting, Wu emphasized that the school would identify the position and focus of Accounting in the discipline construction of digital economy to advance the transformation of digitally-enabled financial audit personnels and to make high-level and symbolic scientific research and social service achievements. In School of Culture and Communication, Wu stressed the need to prioritize discipline construction, explore cross-disciplinary doctoral programs and highlight course construction and key projects application. In School of Foreign Studies, Wu encouraged the school to do a good job in the application of doctoral programs in professional Translation Studies and take the advantage of Economics and Management disciplines to cultivate more featured undergraduates and masters. In Overseas Chinese College, Wu remarked that the school would deeply study how to give a full play tocurrent discipline features and resources to continuously improve teaching quality and discipline development competence.
