CUEB Holds 2015 MBA Career Development Mentor Appointment Ceremony
Wang Wenju, Vice President of CUEB, delivered a speech at the event, expressing his vision that the MBA education should integrate with career development education so that more professionals could be produced. Then Liu Xuexin, Dean of the School of Business Administration, presented the mentors with appointment letters and freshman representatives presented flowers to them. The moment was marked by a group photo.
Duan Yu, Vice President of Dangdang.com, a Chinese e-commerce company, shared his career development stories and encouraged the students to make the best of their time at CUEB to achieve personal development and career transition. As a mentor, he would do his best to guide and help the students. On behalf of freshmen, Du Xiaoqian, monitor of the full-time class, paid tribute to CUEB and the mentors. She encouraged fellow students to spur themselves on by studying extensively, asking prudently, thinking carefully, distinguishing clearly and acting unswervingly. Moreover, they should be committed to their dreams, shoulder their responsibilities and make contributions to CUEB, the society and the motherland.
Mr. Liu announced the founding of MBA Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Centre. Song Keqing and Sun Xi, Director and Executive Deputy Director of the center, made keynote speeches on Entrepreneurship and the Cultivation of the Innovative MBA Professionals in Top Chinese Universities and the Introduction of the MBA Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Centre respectively. They introduced the basic information of the research centre and its service to the students.
At the Career Development Mentor Forum, Xu Wei, Deputy Dean of the School of Business Administration and Director of MBA Education Centre introduced the attendants and warmly welcomed the mentors. Afterwards, Wen Hongjian, vice professor of MBA Career Development Centre, introduced the development of the mentor team and defined mentors’ responsibilities. He stressed that MBA is the most systematic among all career-oriented education. According to statistics, the average working experience of students admitted was over seven years and they were in need of breakthrough in their careers. Therefore, it was vital to appoint career mentors. The size of the mentors appointed this year surpassed that of the previous years, achieving for the first time the full coverage of the part-time and full-time students. The aim was to realize the career gearshift of all students.
The participants of the event included Zhang Xueping, Dean of Division of Academic Affairs, Fan Hejun, Deputy Dean of the School of Business Administration and Cheng Cheng, lecturer from MBA Career Development Centre, staff from MBA Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Centre and around sixty MBA freshmen. The attendants of the conference were the career mentors, who were presidents, vice presidents, chairmen of board and partners from the fields of real estate, finance, Internet, education, as well as government officials.
