CUEB Delegation Lead by Sun Shanxue Visits Korean and Japanese Universities

From December 8th to 15th, a CUEB delegation led by Deputy Party Secretary Sun Shanxue visited universities in Republic of Korea and Japan.



 

In Korea, the delegation visited Dong Seoul College (DSC) and was warmly welcomed by President Sang-Chul Lee, Chief Director Young-Boo Yoo and directors of related divisions. Sun Shanxue delivered a speech in which he pointed out that, as sister universities, the two parties has been in close cooperation since 2010 with short-term exchanges of 60 students every year. Furthermore, with similarity in education philosophy and university mottoes, we are looking forward to further cooperation. Then, the two parties exchanged ideas on furthering students exchange, academic research cooperation and entrepreneurship education.

And then, the delegation visited Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) and had a discussion with Park Byung Joo, SKKU director of Office of International Affairs, and Bong-Chul Choi, dean of School of Law, on programs of Asian universities and summer student exchange, discipline development, academic research cooperation and students’ culture and art exchange, on which two parties reached consensus for further cooperation.

In Japan, the delegation firstly visited Sapporo University. The two parties conducted discussion on short-term student exchange, academic research cooperation, as well as student culture and art exchange, expecting an inter-university cooperation agreement and a detailed discussion. On behalf of CUEB, Sun extended sincere invitation to President Masato Kuwabara to visit CUEB. Before the meeting, the delegation visited the one-stop service hall and employment guidance center of the university.

Ryutsu Keizai University (RKU) has lasting cooperation with CUEB and contributed to the development of CUEB’s professors and scholars. This year marks the 50th year since the foundation of RKU. The delegation was invited to RKU 50thanniversary celebration. Sun extended congratulations to the university in his address and conducted friendly communication with RKU President, inviting him to the 60th anniversary of CUEB next year.

Also, the delegation visited Meiji University. During the visit in Korea and Japan, the delegation also visited Seoul National University, Hokkaido University and The University of Tokyo.
