Recently, the Ministry of Education issued Decisions of Presenting the 7th Excellent Achievement Awards (Humanities and Social Sciences) on Scientific Research in Universities and announced the list of winners. CUEB Professor Zhao Xiuchi from the School of Urban Economics and Public Administration received the second prize in the management category with the book Study on Diversion of Beijing Inner City Population and Suburban Development Mechanism (published in 2011 by Economic Science Press).

The book stemmed from the project of Accelerating Reallocation of Quality Public Resources and the Diversion of Inner City Population and Functions, which was a key decision-making consulting project by Beijing Federation of Social Science Circles. The book analyzed the situation and problems of public resources and population distribution of Beijing inner city and suburbs. It also drew on overseas experience and put forward practical suggestions.
