CUEB Signs Inter-university Cooperation Agreement with Queen’s University Belfast, Britain
On May 16th, CUEB Vice President Xu Fang, on behalf of CUEB, signed an inter-university cooperation agreement with Professor Patrick Johnston, president of Queen’s University Belfast, Britain (short as Queen’s hereinafter).
In the signing ceremony, Xu said that CUEB attaches great importance to and is enhancing its international school-running strategy on all fronts. She also mentioned that the signing of the agreement is of great significance to expand CUEB’s cooperative ties with overseas universities, and hoped that the two, with the agreement as a launch pad, could speed up the implementation of specific cooperation in student exchanges, faculty visiting and academic research innovation.
Professor Patrick Johnston said that Queen’s has been developing its cooperative ties with Chinese universities in recent years, with China Medical University-Queen’s University Belfast Joint College (CQC) and symposiums co-organized with Beijing Institute of Technology as examples. He expected that Queen’s and CUEB could jointly promote the bilateral cooperation and communication by carrying out substantial collaboration in business education.
On May 17th, the Queen’s delegation led by Michael Alcorn, dean of Graduate Studies, School of Creative Arts, Si Cheng, assistant professor with Finance Department, Queen's Management School, and Monica Yang, senior international officer in charge of partnerships with China, visited CUEB and met CUEB delegation consisting of Liu Xuexin, dean of College of Business Administration, Zhu Anbo, head of Foreign Language Department, Li Baixing, deputy dean of School of Accounting, and Yang Yang, assistant dean of School of Finance. The two held in-depth talks and reached cooperation intention in student exchanges, joint education, faculty visiting, academic research cooperation and other specific areas.
