On November 21, Wang Fang, Member of the Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee (BMEWC) and Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission(BMEC), conducted a research tour to CUEB. Wang Qiang, Vice President of University of International Business and Economics(UIBE), participated in the events. CUEB Party Secretary Wang Wenju met with the team led by Wang Fang and Wang Qiang, and extendeda warm welcome. President Wu Weixing, Vice Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, accompanied them and organized a symposium.

At the symposium, Wu Weixing delivered sincere gratitude to BMEWC and BMEC for their care and support. Wu introduced the achievements of CUEB in recent years in terms of Party building, personnel cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research, and social services, analyzed the difficulties, and highlighted the issues related to the Fifth Party Congress of CUEB. Moreover, Wu stated that CUEB would focus on building itself into a high-level research university of finance and economics to write a new chapter in high-quality development. Heads from relevant departments of CUEB and UIBE delivered relevant speeches at the symposium.

After listening to the reports and speeches, Wang Fang fully acknowledged the recent work and development momentum. Besides, he expected that CUEB should advance coordinated development of education, science, and technology, highlight the work of personnel recruitment and cultivation, and establish closer cooperation with relevant universities to form a collaborative innovation synergy. Furthermore, we should find convergence with the construction of Beijing as the Four Centers(namely, national political center, cultural center, center for international exchanges, and center for scientific discovery and technological innovation) to better integrate into the construction of “Two Zones” (an integrated demonstration zone for further opening up the national service sector and a pilot free trade zone), contributing to Beijing’s development in the new era. Meanwhile, CUEB should strengthen its communication and coordination with relevant municipal departments and local departments, ensure logistics and infrastructure services, and promote campus construction with high quality, firmly safeguarding the bottom line of campus safety and stability. He stated that the BMEC will support the campus construction and school renovation projects on an annual basis according to the priority, aiding the construction of a high-level research university.

Before the symposium, Wang Fang and his team visited the No. 6 Student Apartment, gymnasium, and Saiou Apartment, giving guidance and requirements for infrastructure renovation.

Attendees included Wang Lizhi, Director of the Department of School Logistics in the BMEC, Wang Hong, Vice Director of the Department of Capital Construction in BMEC, Huang Yingying, cadre of the Department of Capital Construction in BMEC, Chang Yong, cadre of the Department of School Logistics, Li Kunpeng, member of Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee and Director of Office of Development and Planning, and heads from relevant departments of the two universities.
