CUEB President Wu Weixing Attends the First University Leaders Forum of China Higher Financial & Economics Education
On the morning of May 18, the first University Leaders Forum of China Higher Financial & Economics Education was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. The theme was “New Quality Productive Forces and the Digital Development of Financial & Economics Education”. The forum was hosted by the Higher Financial & Economic Branch of China Higher Education Association, with Anhui University of Finance and Economics (AUFE) as the organizer. Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee and President, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech on “Empowering Financial & Economics Universities with Digital Economy for High-Quality Development”.
Representing CUEB, Wu extended sincere congratulations to AUFE on its 65th anniversary and elaborated on the practices and achievements of CUEB in promoting personnel cultivation and discipline construction. He shared the school’s reform ideas and measures in related fields.
Wu pointed out that CUEB has consistently aligned with national priorities, focusing on the development of the digital economy. By reforming personnel cultivation mode, CUEB has constructed an integrated cultivation system for training undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. With newly introduced undergraduate majors such as Digital Economy, Financial Technology and Supply Chain Management, CUEB aims to cultivate interdisciplinary personnel with innovative capabilities. Additionally, the university has launched a smart campus construction project, integrating new technologies such as Big Data, Cloud Computing, and AI into education and teaching to enhance educational informatization.
Wu shared the efforts made by the university in promoting the construction of interdisciplinary disciplines in the digital economy. Thanks to specialized disciplines such as Applied Economics, Business Administration and Statistics, CUEB has conducted in-depth theoretical and applied research, developed a systematic theoretical framework for the digital economy, and achieved significant findings in digital economy research. These efforts contribute to building Beijing into a global digital economy benchmark city.
Many experts and leaders from financial & economics universities attended the forum and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions, exploring ways to digitize and modernize higher financial & economics education.
CUEB faculty members from the Office of Development and Planning and the Discipline Construction Office also attended the forum.
