Freshman safety education has long been a top priority for CUEB Party Committee Security Department and the Security Office as part of the school’s overall safety education work. Since the beginning of the fall semester, they have initiated “Safety Awareness Cultivation Action” and invited experts from inside or outside the school to give safety lectures to “Raise Students’ Safety Awareness and Improve Self-help Techniques”, with the support of Publicity Department, Students Affairs Department, Network Information Center, the School of Law, the School of Management and Engineering, and other departments. More than 5,600 new comers received safety training, legal training, and emergency skills through these programs. Students gained knowledge about various safety topics, including national security, personal safety, property safety, fire safety, traffic safety, laboratory safety, campus security, anti-terrorism and riot, anti-drugs and HIV prevention, anti-fraud and counter-pyramid selling, and prevention of heretical cults. They also learned how to use fire extinguishers, make a fire escape, and do CPR though hands-on exercises. CUEB works to help students raise safety awareness as early as possible, and acquire  necessary safety knowledge and emergency self-help skills, so as to build a safe foundation for their future life.
