From March 21 to 23, the China Development Forum 2026 was held in Beijing under the theme “China in Its 15thFive-Year Plan Period: Advancing High-Quality Development and Creating New Opportunities Together.” Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. As a partner institution of the forum, CUEB has ensured volunteer support for nine consecutive years, demonstrating the responsibility of CUEBers through professional service.

The Communist Youth League of CUEB placed a high priority on the volunteer work for this forum. Through nominations from schools and departments, centralized interviews, and merit-based selection, a total of 40 volunteers were selected from 14 schools across CUEB to serve the forum. Three of these volunteers started their work in advance to assist host organizations with preparatory work. Prior to deployment, all volunteers attended pre-service training and conducted on-site walkthroughs to familiarize themselves with workflows and venue layouts, ensuring full readiness for their duties.

During the event, volunteers were stationed across more than 10 locations, handling guest reception, venue guidance, and conference logistics. Topping 40,000 steps a day and averaging over 12 hours of daily service, the team accumulated more than 1,400 service hours in total. Through their meticulous and warm service, the volunteers fully showcased excellent spirit and professionalism, earning unanimous praise from the organizers.

The year 2026 marks the beginning of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the 70th anniversary of CUEB. This volunteer service is a vivid example of CUEBers putting their mission into practice and serving the development of the nation and the capital. It also reflects the Communist Youth League’s fulfillment of its duties: to guide and rally, organize and mobilize, and connect with and serve youth, thereby serving the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Looking ahead, CUEB Communist Youth League will continue to inspire students to embrace their responsibilities and actively participate in the Chinese modernization, contributing themselves to building CUEB into a first-class university of finance and economics with capital standards, Chinese characteristics, and international recognition.

Voices of Volunteers

Zhang Jinhan, head of Volunteer Department of the Youth League Committee of CUEB and a 2022 undergraduate student from the College of Business Administration, shared that from the preparatory stage to on-site service, every task made her truly feel that youth are resonating with the times.

Zhang Yixiang, deputy secretary (part-time) of the Youth League Committee and a 2025 master’s student from the School of Marxism, participated in the forum for the second time. He said that by listening to Premier Li Qiang’s keynote speech, he gained a deeper understanding of China’s perspectives on development, the market, and the future.

An Qi, a 2025 master’s student from the Accounting School, believes that the value of service lies in performing every task with a strong sense of responsibility, demonstrating professionalism and humanistic care through standardized procedures.

Chen Yining, a 2024 doctoral student from the School of Public Finance and Taxation, was responsible for security checks and providing route guidance. She said that through serving international guests, she enhanced cross-cultural communication skills and deeply realized that volunteer service is not only a classroom for youth development but also a window to showcase the spirit of Chinese youth to the world.

The volunteers affirmed their commitment to carrying forward the spirit of service with enthusiasm, demonstrating the responsibility and dedication of youth in the new era.
