On November 23, President Wu Weixing, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee, teamed with Meng Bo, Deputy Secretary of CUEB Party Committee and others, visited the People’s Insurance Company of China (PICC) for further cooperation to implement the spirit of the 5th Party Congress of CUEB. Li Zhuyong, member of PICC Party Committee and Vice President, as well as a graduate majoring in Economic Law of Grade 1995, attended the symposium.

President Wu Weixing extended gratitude to Li Zhuyong for his support to Alma Mater. Wu introduced the development goals set by the 5th Party Congress of CUEB and our strengths and characteristics in terms of discipline construction, personnel cultivation, scientific research, teaching staff, and international exchanges and cooperation. Wu indicated that CUEB, as a municipal high-level research university in Beijing, aims to meet the strategic needs of national economic-industrial transformation and upgrading, as well as the talent demand of Beijing’s development in the new era by optimizing its discipline layout and accelerating digital transformation. We expected to learn from the advanced experience of PICC in terms of digital transformation and deepen cooperation, to promote high-quality development of CUEB to a new t level.

Li Zhuyong also expressed a warm welcome to the team and sincere gratitude to CUEB and the teachers. Li introduced the overall development of PICC, highlighting the recent progress in high-quality development and risk management. He pointed out that as the pioneer and founder of the insurance industry in new China, PICC keeps innovating in such areas as rural revitalization, technological innovation, and risk management with expanding business scope and service areas. He expected that the two sides could leverage their respective strengths to deepen cooperation with focuses on financial and insurance risk management, digital transformation, personnel cultivation, green and low-carbon economy, and promote the integrated development of industry, education, and research to achieve mutual benefits.

Meng Bo expressed gratitude for PICC’s support for the employment. He mentioned that CUEB has always maintained a high level of student employment rate, employment quality, and employer satisfaction. He hoped that in the digital age, PICC could integrate industry and enterprise needs into the whole process of personnel cultivation, enhance the school’s capacity in training personnel, and meet the needs of economic and social development. During the meeting, both sides had extensive discussions on deepening cooperation. Then, Wu Weixing and his team visited PICC Museum.
