CUEB Delegation Attends Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance Council Meeting and Theme Forum
From April 15 to 17, Ouyang Qin, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB, led a delegation to Hong Kong to attend the 2025-2026 Annual Meeting of Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance Council and the Presidents’ Forum. The meeting themed “Digital Empowerment and Innovative Collaboration: A New Path for Integrated Development of Higher Education in Beijing and Hong Kong”, was attended by university leaders and heads of relevant departments from 22 member institutions of the alliance in Beijing and Hong Kong. Leaders from the International Department of the Ministry of Education (Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and the Hong Kong Education Bureau attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

During the meeting, participants visited the Visualization Research Centre at Hong Kong Baptist University, the Jockey Club Campus of Creativity, Dr. & Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Museum of Chinese Medicine, and the Hong Kong Legislative Council, engaging in in-depth discussions on student development and scientific innovation. During their stay in Hong Kong, Ouyang and his delegation also visited representatives of CUEB alumni working in Hongkong, briefed on the university’s development progress, and encouraged them to continue to excel in their respective fields while supporting the Alma Mater.
The Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance was voluntarily established by 15 universities in the Beijing area, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, and Capital University of Economics and Business, and 8 universities in Hong Kong, including the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, and Lingnan University. With the mission to bring together elite universities from both regions and achieve mutual benefit, the alliance is committed to deepening exchanges and cooperation among its member institutions in areas such as student training and scientific research, thereby elevating the level and quality of collaboration between Beijing and Hong Kong.
