Guests from State University of New Jersey Visit CUEB

On June 19th, Prof. Charles Menifield, Dean of the School of Public Affairs and Administration of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (RU), and Prof. Zhang Yahong, Director of International Affairs, visited CUEB. They signed a training agreement of undergraduates and postgraduates, which symbolized a further cooperation between the two sides since the “1+2+1” joint education program in 2016.

At 9 a.m., President Fu Zhifeng met with Prof. Charles Menifield and his delegation at the Chinese-style Meeting Room of Boyuan Building. Fu Zhifeng extended warm welcome to the two guests from afar and introduced CUEB’s progress in foreign cooperation and exchanges in recent years. The guests expressed their confidence in future cooperation. Xie Haixia, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Zhou Mingsheng, Dean of the Postgraduate School of CUEB, Fan Yanying, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, and related officials of the College of Urban Economics and Public Administration (hereinafter referred to as College of UE & PA), met with the guests as well.

Afterwards, the College of UE & PA and RU held a signing ceremony on “3+2” combined bachelor and master’s degree program (hereinafter referred to as “3+2” program) and “1+1+1” double master program (hereinafter referred to as “1+1+1” program) in Tianlang Hall of Boyuan Building. On behalf of CUEB and RU, Zhang Guoshan, Dean of the College of UE & PA and Prof. Charles Menifield, signed the cooperation agreement. Li Nan, a student from the College of UE & PA, who was exchanged at RU for one year, expressed gratitude to the two visitors.

Prof. Charles Menifield was invited to give an academic lecture with the title of “Police Killings in the US:What Does the Data Reveal?” for Public Administration Expert Forum.

Zhang Yahong gave an academic lecture with the theme of “Research on Civil Servant Corruption Motivation”, and Prof. Wang Deqi, Party Secretary of the College of UE & PA, presided over the event.

At 9 p.m., Prof. Charles Menifield and Zhang Yahong held the international study exchanges salon focusing on the newly-signed “3+2” program and “1+1+1” program between RU and CUEB in Tianlang Hall of Boyuan Building, which attracted nearly 40 undergraduates and postgraduates.
