CUEB Approved Beijing Education with Rule of Law Research Base
On September 26th, Beijing Education with Rule of Law Research Base (hereinafter referred to as Research Base) Work Promotion Conference was held at Beijing Municipal Education Commission. CUEB was newly listed as Beijing Education with Rule of Law Research Base. On behalf of CUEB, Tang Xing’an, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection of CUEB, attended the conference and signed the project construction task statement.
Beijing Education with Rule of Law Research Base was co-established by Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Legislative Affairs Committee and Committee of Education, Science and Technology, Culture, Health and Sports of Beijing Municipal People’s Congress, Legislative Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, Renmin University of China and other three universities directly under the Ministry of Education, CUEB and other three Beijing municipal universities. The Research Base aimed to carry out comprehensive, forward-looking and effective research on major issues and key areas in the development of education with rule of law in Beijing. It serves the promotion of education with law in Beijing and will become a major advisory body for legislation research and decision-making. Pro. Yu Zhong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and director of the Organization Office of CUEB, was appointed as the director of the research base, and Professor Mi Xinli, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Law, the deputy director of the base.
In the beginning, leaders of Legislative Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, Legislative Affairs Committee and Committee of Education, Science and Technology, Culture, Health and Sports of Beijing Municipal People’s Congress and Beijing Municipal Education Commission awarded the base plaques to the four universities respectively. On behalf of CUEB, Tang Xing’an, received the plaque from the leaders of Legislative Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality.
After the awarding ceremony, four offices of Beijing Municipal Education Commission signed and presented the 2018-2019 base construction task statement to leaders of CUEB and other three universities that the newly added. On behalf of CUEB, Tang Xing’an signed the statement.
In the following, Mi Xinli, on behalf of CUEB research base, introduced the relevant information from four perspectives: brief profile of the base, researchers, research achievements, construction plans. She said that the next step was to integrate the power of the whole School with the strong support of CUEB and promote construction to improve Beijing’s education with rule of law.
Finally, Li Yi, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, delivered a speech. He hoped that the eight approved bases would become new type of think tanks to study the rule of law construction and solve the tough problems of the rule of law. He also hoped we would nurture excellent talents for Beijing law education and build a Beijing hub of education with rule of law research.
