Hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) and organized by China Development Research Foundation (CDRF), China Development Forum (CDF) 2019 was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Beijing, from March 23rd to 25th. 42 CUEB graduate students served as volunteers in the forum, to which CUEB has sent volunteers for 4 years in a row. With positive attitudes and high standards of service, the students participating in the activity delivered their best to accomplish all kinds of tasks, thus receiving highly praise from  DRC, CDRF and representatives. 

On the afternoon of March 24th, Feng Pei, CUEB Party Secretary, Zhao Xiling, Director of the Office of Cooperation Affairs, Zhang Tong and Zhou Congzhou, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Youth League CUEB Committee, went to visit students at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse at the invitation of Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CDRF Lu Mai, who is also a CUEB alumnus of 1981.

The CUEB delegation was received by Chen Guotang, Deputy Secretary-General of CDRF, and Qiao Zhengyang, Director of the Department of Human Resources and Scientific Research Management and CUEB alumnus of 1989. During the meeting held by the two sides, Chen, on behalf of the organizer, expressed his gratitude to CUEB for its 4-year delivery of excellent volunteers to CDF. He also thanked CUEB students for what they have done, adding that the students have impressed the organizer with their serious attitudes and eagerness to contribute in the work. Feng, on behalf of CUEB, whole-heartedly thanked the Foundation for giving the students such a great opportunity to learn and practice, remarking what and how the volunteer students had done was a vivid reflection of the CUEB spirit, of which he was very proud of. In the volunteering work, it was important for the volunteers, as the youth in the new era, to honor their commitment and foster firm faith. That was how they can keep abreast and add to the glory of the country with distinguished characteristics of Beijing students, said Feng. 

The CDF is committed to “Engaging with the World for Common Prosperity”. It is an annual conference held at the weekend right after the conclusion of the “Two Sessions”, namely the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). CDF provides a pivotal platform for the Chinese government, global business community, multilateral international organizations and the academia to enhance exchanges. This year, CDF celebrated its 20th anniversary with the theme of “Greater opening-up for win-win cooperation”. Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang discussed with international delegates and Vice Premier of the State Council Han Zheng gave a speech in the opening ceremony this year.
