October marked the month that CUEB initiated the theme education named as “Staying True to Our Founding Mission” on a profound way. Besides it, on the afternoon of October 24th, the Group of School Party Committee Theory Learning Centre (Expanded) visited the Fragrant Hills Revolutionary Memorial Sites, watched theme exhibition named as “To Lay the Foundation for New China”, paid tribute to the revolutionary sites, reviewed the party’s glorious course, and recalled the original aspiration of the predecessors. 

First, the visiting group came to a revolutionary memorial museum and visited a theme exhibition on the history of the CPC Committee during that period, watching documentaries and reliving the history of how CPC Central Committee moved into Beijing in 1949.

After that, the group visited Shuangqing Villa, where Chairman Mao had worked and lived. Then, they recalled the working and living conditions of the older generation of revolutionaries.

During the visit, CUEB Party Secretary Feng Pei talked with the group about the statement of General Secretary Xi Jinping when he visited the Fragrant Hill Revolutionary Memorial Sites. Xi emphasized that we should cherish this history, inherit and carry forward the revolutionary spirit of the older generation, that is, “to pursue the tottering foe with power and not to ape Xiang Yu the conqueror seeking idle fame” (from a poem by Mao Zedong). That means we should inherit and carry forward the revolutionary consciousness of the older generation to build the party for the public and exercise the power for the people and to maintain modest and hard-working. The history of our Party is the way we conquer the different challenges. Under the historical conditions of the new era, we must adhere to the original aspiration, foster virtue through education, put forward the theme education of “Staying True to Our Founding Mission” and make new achievements and develop new phases for CUEB.

The members said that the educational activity carries its significance and will further guide the majority of Party members for building a firm faith and undertaking the responsibilities. Group members said that they will concentrate on the work of school and key tasks of the departments and effectively turn their learning results into concrete actions to promote work development.
