CUEB Holds “Forge Ahead with My Motherland” Faculty Singing Competition
On October 23rd, “Forge Ahead with My Motherland” Faculty Singing Competition organized by the Labor Union was held in Zhuoyu Auditorium, CUEB. Feng Pei, CUEB Party Secretary, Xu Fang, CUEB Deputy Party Secretary and Labor Union President, Wang Chuansheng and Wang Yonggui, CUEB Vice Presidents attended the event.
On behalf of CUEB Party Committee and the administrative team, Feng Pei expressed his sincere gratitude to all the teachers and students who participated in the service groups in the National Day, and extended cordial greetings to faculty & staff of all departments and units. Feng Pei pointed out that inspirational songs led us in retrospect of the past years. Today's China is like “The Song of the Yangtze River.” The historical process of “Country” and national rejuvenation was unstoppable. Since the founding of CUEB 63 years ago, CUEBers have never forgotten the original aspiration to shoulder university’s responsibilities through building “first-class courses” of teaching quality, and planning cutting-edge subject construction and discipline positioning. Feng Pei called for CUEBers to endeavor to write the Beijing chapter of Chinese education in the new era.
The 23 teams from CUEB sub-labor unions, dressed in uniforms, and appeared in a neat queue and displayed a sound spirit to sing the theme of the era. “Staying True to Our Founding Mission”, “Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China”, “Country”, “Today is your Birthday” and other well-known and heroic songs condensed the positive energy of development, so that faculty and staff could feel the spiritual connotation of “Staying True to Our Founding Mission” put forward by the Party and the state.
The School of Economics sang “I Love You China.”
The “Me and My Motherland” and “Red Flag Fluttering” sung by the International School of Economic Management stunned the audience as if they were in the arms of their motherland.
The “Staying True to Our Founding Mission” sung by CUEB Administrative Offices was sonorous and forceful, and fittingly interpreted the initial aspiration of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The School of Law sang “Love China” and “Welcome to Beijing” with gorgeous costumes and sonorous drums.
The School of Sports sang “Unity is Power” and “Great China” with powerful force.
“The Motherland Will Not Forget” sung by the College for Urban Economics and Public Administration extolled the unsung heroes who dedicated to the country.
The “Azalea” and “Love My China” sung by the University Hospital made the stage glorious and dazzling.
“Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China” and “Powerful Workers” sung by the School of Marxism Studies brought people into those extraordinary years.
“In the Bright Sunshine” and “Target Return” sung by the Overseas Chinese College expressed their patriotic feelings with sonorous voices.
“Clear Water in Wanquan River” sung by the School of Foreign Studies demonstrated the relationship between the army and the people as close as that between fish and water.
“Today is Your Birthday” and “Unity is Power” sung by the School of Statistics expressed deep love and blessings to the motherland.
“Socialism is Good” and “The Sea, Hometown” sung by the College of Business Administration were both moving and fascinating.
“Let's Scull” and “We Walk on the Road” sung by the School of Accounting let people feel a new era full of power.
The School of Labor Economics incorporated elements such as readings, operas and musical instruments into the singing of the “Country” and pushed the competition to a climax.
“The Song of the Yangtze River” sung by the Property Management Department expressed their gratitude to the Chinese nation.
The Office of Logistics Services sang “Ode to the Motherland” and “Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China” with impassioned singing.
“My Chinese Heart” and “Motherland, Kind Mother” sung by the School of Culture and Communication were melodious and touching.
The School of Management Engineering sang “Unity is Power” and “Me and My Motherland”, which combined whistle and dance performances in a new form.
The “Embroidery Red Flag” sung by the Library was really affectionate and touched everyone on the scene.
“The Sun is the Reddest and Chairman Mao is the Closest” sung by the School of Finance with dance expressed their infinite respect for Chairman Mao.
The School of International Education sang “The Motherland Will Not Forget” with eloquent voices.
“Today is Your Birthday” and “Youth Dance” by the School of Public Finance and Taxation were full of vitality.
“Rise of China” and “Song of the Guerrillas” sung by the School of Continuing Education showed the conviction and determination of Chinese people.
Representatives of the Labor Union sang “Ode to the Motherland”.
This Singing Competition was one of the activities of CUEB themed education of “Staying True to Our Founding Mission.” In the planning and organization of the competition, leaders in different units actively participated in the rehearsals and competitions. The rich singing forms and performance techniques fully demonstrated the style of CUEB faculty and staff.
Leaders presented awards and congratulations to the winning units and individuals. Then they took a group photo to record this memorable moment.
The Faculty Singing Competition has come to a successful conclusion. While, the spirit of CUEBers was sustainable and we forged ahead with our motherland!
