CUEB Holds “Celebrate 70 Glorious Years of the Past & Build New Dream in New Era” Variety Performance

On December 6th, Youth League Committee of CUEB held Variety Performance entitled “Celebrate 70 Glorious Years of the Past & Build New Dream Based on New Era”. Present at the activity was Party Secretary Feng Pei, President Fu Zhifeng, Vice Party Secretary Xu Fang, Vice President Ding Lihong, Wang Chuansheng and Wang Yonggui, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection, Supervision Department Chen Caiqun, directors of all CUEB departments and schools, as well as more than 700 representatives of teachers and students.
At the performance
 
China National Symphony Orchestra young singer and national first-level actor Chen Junhua, Chairman of China Choral Art Research Association, CCTV well-known director Hai Yan, master of mezzo-soprano, young female mezzo-soprano singer of China Railway Art Troupe Han Ting, Central National Song and Dance Ensemble actor and director, director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Southeast Asian Games, director of 21st Anniversary National Day Party of the Republic of Seychelles Su Hao, founder of Beijing 9 Dang Dai Dance Troupe and Secretary-General of Dancers Association of China Federation of Literary and Art in Chaoyang District attended and judged the performance.
 
Teachers and students from 15 colleges displayed the majestic changes and historical achievements in the past 70 years since the foundation of People’s Republic of China (PRC) in forms of original stage plays which included three chapters named as “Rejuvenation of China in One Heart”, “Make Our Country Prosperous, People Wealthy and Nation Strong” and “Forge Ahead to Make New Progresses”. All of the three chapters praised the spirit of Chinese people’s unremitting struggle to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nations. After the wonderful performances of colleges, the Dance & Art Troop of CUEB undergraduates showed dance “Azalea” and the Choir singed “Staying True to Our Founding Mission”.
 
In Chapter One “Rejuvenation of China in One Heart”, “Create a New World” performed by Overseas Chinese College reproduced the birth of the Republic of China. The flaming torch brought light and hope to Chinese nations who had been humiliated for nearly a hundred years. “The Motherland Will Not Forget” performed by the School of Law told the paramount ideals and beliefs of the members of CPC (Communist Party of China) who sacrificed in prisons before the founding of People’s Republic of China. The School of Marxism played “We Workers Have Power” to explain the role of the working class in promoting the advancement of history and social progress from the birth of CPC. “Chinese Nations as a Family” performed by the School of Culture and Communication, told the story of 56 ethnic groups that are connected together. “Red Gene, Blue Power” performed by the School of Economics told the stories that a group of pioneers who inherited the spirit of the Red Revolution came to the coastal areas after the reform and opening up and created a miracle in all fields with the spirit of courage.

In Chapter Two “Make Our Country Prosperous, People Wealthy and Nation Strong”, “Love in the Field of Hope” performed by the School of Foreign Studies showed that in this plain but hopeful land, the vast number of farmers drew a beautiful rural picture with their hard work. “Bauhinia Shining in the Five-Starred Red Flag” performed by the International School of Economic Management showed a story of a couple reunited in a special way after the return of Hong Kong. The School of Accounting sang “Inseparable Neither Death or Alive” eleven years after the Wenchuan earthquake and told the story of Wenchuan people in the new era who passed on life and hope. “Ark’s Dream Come True” which performed by College of Urban Economics and Public Administration played the story of Shenzhou V flying into the universe carrying the expectation and dream of Chinese nations. “Interlocking” performed by the School of Management Engineering recalled the process of Beijing Olympic bid and the preparation of Beijing Olympic Games. Everyone played an important role in this process and everyone used their ways to live their Olympic dreams.

In Chapter Three “Forge Ahead to Make New Progresses”, the “Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation” performed by the School of Public Finance and Taxation showed the great leap forward achieved by China since the 18th CPC National Congress. “A Strong Military Dream” performed by the School of Finance has shown the image of Chinese soldiers on the stage through the performance of a heroic squad of fearless sacrifice. The School of Labor Economics paid tribute to the teachers who worked hard at the three-foot podium with “Flying Petals”. “We Walk on the Great Road” performed by the School of Statistics took everyone back to the long march of poverty alleviation. College of Business Administration's “Forward Together with My Motherland” recalled once again the moving scene of the CUEBers’ participation in the National Day mass pageantry, grand evening gala in Tian'anmen Square and volunteer activities.

After evaluation by the judges, the College of Business Administration, the School of Culture and Communication, the School of Foreign Studies, the School of Labor Economics, the International School of Economic Management, the School of Economics, the School of Urban Economics and Public Management, and the School of Management Engineering won the outstanding performance award (arranged along to the brain word brush stroke). The School of Law won the Best Creativity Award, The School of Public Finance and Tax won the Best Orchestration Award, The School of Finance won the Most Potential Award, The School of Statistics won the Best Performance Award, The School of Accounting won the Best Team Award, Overseas Chinese College won the Best Strength Award, the School of Marxism Studies won the Most Elegant Award (individual prizes are ranked in no particular order). Chen Caiqun and Feng Pei respectively announced the list of individual awards and outstanding performance awards and presented awards.
