On December 18th, the 8th “CUEBers’ Models” & Celebrations for 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC Awards Ceremony was held in the gymnasium. In order to further enrich the spiritual connotation of "CUEBers’ Models", the award ceremony was divided into two chapters, "Young CUEBers’ Pursuits" and "CUEBers’ Achievements". Present at the ceremony was Party Secretary Feng Pei, President Fu Zhifeng, Vice Party Secretary Xu Fang, Vice President Ding Lihong, Wang Chuansheng and Wang Yonggui, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection, Supervision Department Chen Caiqun, directors and instructors of all departments and schools, as well as all teachers and students who participated in the volunteer services of the 70th Anniversary of National Day. Ma Li, Director of Students' Affairs Division, presided over the ceremony.

Along with an opening video showing "Struggle" and "Deep Feeling" of young CUEBers, the awarding ceremony was kicked off.

The first awards were various types of scholarships. In 2019, the proportion of undergraduates receiving a Single Award in CUEB reached 40.0%; the proportion of graduate students receiving a Single Award reached 38.4%; 3 international students received Chinese Government Scholarships; a total of 86 students received China National Scholarships and 303 received National Encouragement Scholarships. Ma Menglei, a student from the School of Finance, told her dream and persistence in the "Sudoku" in the past experience and the present life as a representative. She showed the talents of CUEBers and won glory for CUEB, Beijing and even China with her 20th personal world ranking in the Sudoku and maintenance of the Guinness World Records.

The second awards were various types of titles. A total of 1,216 people in CUEB have won various honorary titles, of which 225 individuals have won municipal honorary titles and above. 14 classes, dormitories, and Party and Youth League branches won honors for outstanding grassroots organizations above the municipal level. Ding Lihong and Xu Fang presented awards to the collectives and student representatives.

Feng Chuheng and his comrades from the School of Management Engineering shared their stories in the national flag group. With the theme of "Protecting the National Flag for the Motherland; Striving to Paying Tribute to Youth", it showed the heritage, beliefs and endeavors of the national flag group. They showed no fear of difficulties and paid tribute to a memorable youth.

The third award was the President's Scholarship. President's Scholarship is the highest award for students set up by CUEB to reward undergraduates with excellent moral qualities, solid professional skills, outstanding innovation ability, and excellent comprehensive qualities. Feng Pei shook hands with the 11 students who received the President's Scholarship and encouraged them to work hard and make more achievements.

Guan Zhichao, a student who won the President's Scholarship from the School of Economics, shared his outstanding achievements. Being steadfast and diligent in his studies, He works hard in scientific research innovation. Through his experiences in subject competitions and social activities, Guan Zhichao shared with students how to apply what they have learned into practice, making greater social value out of books.

This year, more than 1,000 teachers and students in CUEB participated in the mass pageantry, grand evening gala in Tian'anmen Square and volunteer service activities to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC). The video produced by the Ministry of Publicity, “Dedication to the National Day Celebration, Paying Tribute to CUEBers’ Models” and the work summary of Zhang Tong, Deputy Captain of the National Day Mass Pageantry Brigade, reviewed with students the details of our National Day volunteer services.

After Xu Fang read Decision on Commending Teachers and Students Who Participated in the Volunteer Service Activities of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of PRC, Xing Qi, Wang Yonggui, Wang Chuansheng, and Ding Lihong awarded commendation orders, honorary certificates, and commemorative medals to the representatives of teachers and students.

In serving the National Celebration, Party Committee of CUEB has established a temporary Party General branch which recommended probationary party members with firm faith and excellent performance to attend the Party. There are nine students gloriously joined the Chinese Communist Party. Feng Pei, Xu Fang and Wang Qi presented Party Emblems for students who joined the Party.

The representatives of teachers and students who participated in the volunteer service activities brought a wonderful play “Me in the 70th National Anniversary”. The story represented many wonderful moments of the major activities in the 70th National Anniversary participated by many teachers and students. They recalled the moment with dedication and passion. The teachers and students and deeply touched and pushed the ceremony to a climax.

On behalf of Party Committee of CUEB, Feng Pei expressed heartful thanks to teachers and students who participated in the celebration and staffs of Office of Logistics. He said that on December 16th, “remaining true to our original aspiration” float came home to CUEB. It is not only the carrier of ideological construction of school in future, but also the collective memory of CUEBers who followed the 70 years progresses of the motherland. CUEBers, whether models with various honors or participants to the National Celebration Activities, will write a magnificent youth chapter with progress, passion and duty. He hoped that CUEBers could continue to “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind”, resonate with our motherland, welcome and create a brilliant 2020 while forging ahead with our motherland.
