On the morning of March 14, in accordance with the unified arrangements of the Education Working Committee at the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the inspection team of the Basic Standards for Party Building and Ideological and Political Work in Beijing Colleges and Universities (hereinafter referred to as the Basic Standards) visited CUEB to inspect the implementation of the Basic Standards and the efforts made in Party building and ideological and political work. The inspection team was led by Cao Wenjun, head of the Disciplinary Inspection and Supervision Group of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection in the Municipal Education Working Committee, and Huang Kan, former Deputy Director of the Municipal Education Commission.

In the morning, the Basic Standards inspection report meeting was held in the Press Room of Boyuan Building, with Cao Wenjun presiding over the meeting. CUEB leaders, Standing Committee of the Party Committee of CUEB, directors of functional departments and academic resources as well as directors from party organization of secondary schools attended the meeting.

On behalf of CUEB Party Committee, Han Xianzhou, secretary of CUEB Party Committee, delivered a work report entitled “Leading the high-quality development of the school with high-quality Party building and writing a new chapter to serve Beijing in the new era.” Above all, he made a special report on the study, publicity, and implementation of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. Han reported Party building and ideological and political work from four aspects: first, to strengthen the Party’s overall leadership over school work, and give full play to the leading and guaranteeing role of Party building; second, to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and build a high-level personnel training system; third, to further improve the ability to serve the nation and Beijing in the new era; fourth, to recognize our drawbacks and work out solutions for Party building and ideological and political work.

Han Xianzhou pointed out that our primary political task is to study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. We need to redouble efforts to comprehensively study and implement the Report to the 20th CPC National Congress. With a clear plan to continue the work onto a higher level, we need to organize activities such as learning training, theme propaganda, press publicity, and research and interpretation. At the same time, we need to leverage the main role of class education to raise students’ awareness of the spirit of the Congress. In line with the actual condition, all teachers and students are expected to deepen their understanding of higher education, professional development, and moral education under new circumstances, and to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress.

Han pointed out that CUEB Party Committee insists on taking the effectiveness of fostering virtue through education as the fundamental standard for Party building, equipping ourselves with the Party's innovative theory, so that they unite with one heart and one mind. And we need to remain committed to comprehensively governing the Party with strict discipline and take main responsibilities to strengthen the Party discipline. Besides, we need to carry forward the construction of grassroots organizations and cadres, further facilitate the integration of Party building and business, and ensure the high-quality development with the guidance of high-quality Party building. With fostering virtue through education as the starting point and goal of all work, we need to improve the ability of talent training, and based on the curriculum-based ideological and political construction, we need to improve the “Three-Wide Education” system. And we need to make continuous efforts to improve the new paradigm of “Broader Ideological and Political Education”, which encompasses “ideological and political courses, ideological and political curriculum, and daily ideological and political education”, and then form a synergistic effect through collaboration. CUEB Party Committee has always adhered to serving the capital in the new era, and kept “being based on Beijing and serving the capital” in mind. We resolutely implement the requirements of classified development project of municipal colleges and universities, actively give full play to the advantages of regions and disciplines, deepen the reform of personnel training, strengthen organized research, promote the school’s work to actively serve the capital in the new era, and enhance the our characteristics and commitments among universities in the capital and universities of finance and economics.

Han Xianzhou said that CUEB Party Committee will always keep in mind the mission of “cultivating talents for the Party and the country”, and take the Basic Standards inspection as an opportunity to further clarify development objectives, refine work measures, and lead high-quality development with the high-quality Party building. And we will forge CUEB into Beijing Municipal high-level research university and China’s first-class and worldly-renowned university of finance and economics, and write a new chapter in serving the capital in the new era.

President Fu Zhifeng delivered a supplementary report on the theme of "rallying the Party and the government for a new chapter of the capital". He emphasized that in recent years, the school has committed to improving the accountability mechanism of the president under the leadership of the Party committee for the development of the school, to supporting the Party building and ideological and political work by establishing morality and fostering people as their fundamental measure, and to implementing the classified development requirements of municipal universities to serve the development of the capital. In addition, Fu stated that the development of the school came from the leadership of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the support of the Municipal Education Work Committee and the Municipal Education Commission, and the strong leadership of the school party committee and the collective wisdom of the team. Looking forward, CUEB will, under the strong leadership of Beijing Committee of the Communist Party of China, deepen reforms and move forward courageously, striving to make greater contributions to the capital and higher education in the new era.

Following the meeting, the expert group carefully reviewed documents related to the school's Party building and ideological and political work in recent years. Then, the group was divided into three special working groups: the overall group, the party building group, and the publicizing group, with each group assigned to organize symposia on Party building and career development, grassroots party building, and publicity work, respectively. During these symposia, Party members, cadres, teachers, and students shared their opinions and perspectives with the expert group.

In the afternoon, the expert group conducted field visits to the School of Economics, the School of Finance, the School of Accounting, the School of Finance and Taxation, the School of Labor Economics, and the School of Culture and Communication. They listened to the reports of the school's party and government leaders on career development, Party building work, ideological and political work for teachers and students, and united-front work, and then reviewed relevant documents and visited various venues and facilities for activities.

The expert group toured student classrooms, the library, student study spaces, ecological and natural literature stacks, the network information center, the safe campus management service center, student apartments, security rooms, and other departments. At the same time, they also visited the School of Marxism, the Employment Guidance Center, Ideological and Political Classroom, the “interactive sharing platform of Digital School of Marxism Studies teaching resources” and the Mental Health Education and Consultation Center, the College Students' Ideological and Political Center, the Art Education Center, the Faculty's Home, the Audio and Video Work Offices and other places.
