CUEB Signs Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Counsellors' Office of People's Government of Beijing Municipality
On the morning of October 13, CUEB signed a strategic cooperation agreement (hereafter the Agreement) with the Counsellors’ Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality (Beijing Municipal Institute for Culture and History) in the Tianlang Hall of Boyuan Building. Present at the signing ceremony was Party Secretary Wang Wenju, Deputy Party Secretary and President Wu Weixing, and Li Xin, Director of Counsellors’ Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. Chen Yanbin, Vice President and member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee hosted the ceremony.
Wu extended a warm welcome to Li Xin and her team and stated that the Agreement greatly supported CUEB in conducting research and developing think tank. It also had a crucial significance for CUEB to better support the country and the capital in the new era. Besides, Wu introduced the achievements made by CUEB in the construction of “four centers” (namely, national political center, cultural center, international exchanges center and technological innovation center) and “two zones” (namely, the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone) in Beijing. He remarked that the two sides would leverage respective strengths and deepen cooperation, contributing to the implementation of major national strategies and the development of the capital in the new era.

Then, on behalf of the two sides, Wu and Li signed the strategic cooperation agreement.
The two sides shared their insights on collaboration forms, areas and mechanisms based on their respective advantages and needs at the symposium. Participated in the symposium was Ke Wenjin, former Secretary of the Party Committee of CUEB and Special Researcher of Counsellors’ Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, Ge Xinlei, Deputy Director of the Counsellor’s office, Chang Ping, Level II Bureau Rank Official, Jiang Yingjie, Director of Beijing Municipal Institute for Culture and History, Liu Xuexin, Dean of the College of Business Administration, Zhang Shijun, Dean of the School of Law, Liu Wenchuan, Party Secretary of the School of Finance, Zhao Xiling, Director of the Archives, Gao Jieying, Director of CBD Development Research Base, Ye Tanglin, Executive Deputy Dean of Academy of Metropolis Economic and Social Development and Cao Jingtao, Deputy Director of National Tax Law Research Base.
In her closing remark, Li Xin pointed out that the Counsellor’s Office and CUEB shared a long and collaborative history and numerous CUEB experts have been appointed as counsellors or special researchers of the Counsellor’s Office. They have performed their duties conscientiously and offered suggestions for Beijing’s economic and social advancement. She anticipated that the Agreement would present a fresh chance for the two sides to establish a regular joint meeting mechanism to explore new forms and areas of collaboration in Beijing’s primary fields, contributing more to the capital’s advancement in the new era.
Representatives from the Office of Research, the Academic Affairs Office, the Archive, relevant schools, the CBD Development Research Base and the National Tax Law Research Base attended the signing ceremony and the symposium.
