From November 11th to 12th, the 2016 City Internationalization Forum was held in Beijing Dahongmen International Convention and Exhibition Center. The forum was co-sponsored by CUEB and the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee of Social Work, organized by CUEB Division of Academic Research and the Mega-city Economic and Social Development Institute. The opening ceremony kicked off on the 11th. Xu Fang, Vice President of CUEB, presided over the ceremony. Feng Pei, Secretary of the Party Committee of CUEB, delivered opening remarks.

The first plenary session was hosted by ShenJianjun, Director of Science and Technology Commission of Beijing CPPCC Committee. Lu Jian, member of Beijing Municipal Social Work Committee and Deputy Inspector of Municipal Social Construction Office, Chen Jian, Vice President of Beijing Institute of Socialism and Researcher of Beijing Reform and Development Research Association, and Deng Guosheng, Professor of Tsinghua University School of Public Administration, respectively made keynote speeches on “InnovateServices Management Mechanism, Create ‘Upgraded Version’ of ‘Hub’Social Organization”, “Meaning and Significance of Social Value Investment”, and “Community Foundation - New Engine for Community Building”.

The second plenary session was chaired by Researcher Li Zhanjun, Chairman of Beijing Publishing Group. Shi Lirong, Professor of the Department of Sociology of University of Science and Technology Beijing, Xu Jun, Professor of the School of Urban Economics and Public Administration of CUEB, and FengXingyuan, Researcher of the Institute of Rural Development, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, made keynote speechesrespectively on “Significance of Social Enterprise”, “Development of Environmental Social Enterprises: Foreign Experience and Revelation” and “Role of Chamber of Commerce, Association and Industry Technology Alliance in the Process of Urbanization in China".

On the morning of 12th, participants had the parallel themedsessions. The three research groups of the Urban Research Community convened the group members to discuss the 3 research themes of social organization and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional development, social enterprise, social innovation and urban governance, social organization and urban community service system.

At the end of the forum, the Urban Research Community had a work conference. The expert committee gave guidance on the plan, focus and direction of the 2017 research.

Present at the forum were experts and scholars from 15 universities, including Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, and Beijing Normal University; 6 research institutes, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Architectural Design and Research Institute; 8 government agencies and affiliated organizations, including the National Health Family Planning Commission, Hebei Party Committee and Provincial Government; as well as 7 public organizations and enterprises, including the Asia-Pacific City Research Association, China Urban Science Research Society. A total of 71 registered representatives, 90 doctors and masters participated in the forum.
