Recently, the Standing Committee of CUEB Party Committee has fully demonstrated its leading role in studying and disseminating General Secretary Xi Jinping’s latest important speeches and articles, effectively advancing the implementation of the “First Agenda” system. This effort aims to transform Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into a powerful driving force for guiding practice and promoting work. Wang Wenju, Secretary of the Party Committee, presided over the meeting.

On June 12, the Committee took the lead in studying the spirit of Xi Jinping’s speech at the 14th Collective Study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, the 5th Meeting of the Central Committee for Comprehensive Deepening Reform, his instructions from an inspection in Shandong, and an article titled Developing New Quality Productive Forces Is the Internal Requirement and Important Focus of Promoting High-quality Development in the 11th volume of Qiushi Journal. On June 18, they followed up with the spirit of Xi’s reply to Professor Yao Qizhi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at Tsinghua University, as well as an article titled Creating New Prospects for High-quality Development in China in the 12th volume of Qiushi Journal. The committee ensured that the spirit of the reply was studied, discussed, and implemented in a timely manner. Xu Fang, Deputy Party Secretary of CUEB, gave a detailed explanation.

Wang Wenju outlined specific requirements: 

First, deepen reforms: The 5th Meeting of the Central Committee for Comprehensive Deepening Reform has made plans for further reforms. To achieve these, it is necessary to adhere to the leadership of the Party and strengthen Party building, especially focusing on Party discipline education. Party members and cadres are expected to fully understand and implement Party discipline. While observing rules and regulations, they should bear in mind General Secretary Xi instructions, proactively promote new advancements and create new prospects for various undertakings of CUEB. 

Second, prioritize Graduate employment: Graduate employment is a top priority for improving people’s livelihoods. The Career Guidance Centre should fully leverage campus recruitment and advance targeted employment opportunities. It is necessary to implement the “one student, one policy” approach and provide tailored employment assistance to help students develop a more positive and correct outlook on employment and career choices. This aims to vigorously promote high-quality and sufficient employment for graduates. 

Third, promote personnel training: General Secretary Xi’s reply to Academician Yao fully reflects the Party Central Committee’s high regard for talents. CUEB should adhere to its original aspiration of “cultivating talents for the Party and the country”, accelerate reforms in personnel management, implement the “Leading Goose Project” to enhance the quality of the teaching staff and introduce higher-quality resources, improve the organization, application and cultivation for various national and Beijing municipal talent programs, and perfect the capacity for independent personnel cultivation.

Fourth, implement comprehensive study: all teachers and students are required to thoroughly study and comprehend the essence, substance, and practical requirements of General Secretary Xi’s two key articles in Qiushi Journal. This learning should be integrated with in-depth study and implementation of General Secretary Xi’s speech on developing new quality productive forces, the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the Central Economic Work Conference, as well as Xi Jinping Economic Thought. The focus is on high-quality development as the primary task, promoting it through deepening reforms in accordance with the plan of the 5th Party Congress of CUEB. The requirements of high-quality development should be effectively incorporated into all aspects of the school’s operations, contributing to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
