CUEB’s “First Secretary” Takes Up Poverty Alleviation Work Successfully

On 1st. March, Feng Pei, Party Secretary of CUEB, led a team to Taizimu Village, Yanchi Town, Mentougou District in a bid to conduct “First Secretary” handover and show appreciation to them.

 

ZhangGuiyan, Deputy Director of CUEB library, was selected to work as First Secretary of Taizimu Village, Yanchi Town at the end of 2016 in order to further implement the spirit of the conference on party building and poverty alleviation, according to arrangements of Organization Department of Beijing Municipal Committee. At the end of 2018, Ou Jinlin from Academic Affairs Office was appointed to take over this official post to continue the work.

Feng Pei and his delegation came to Taizimu Village on 1st, March. Firstly, they had a formal talk with Party Committee of Yanchi Town. Cai Lijun, a member of Party Committee of Yanchi Town, displayed a general picture about the work and achievements Zhang Guiyan had made when she was in office as First Secretary. Besides, Cai expressed great thanks to CUEB Party Committee and warm welcome to the new First Secretary. Apart from strong support for First Secretary like always, she also hoped the new First Secretary can acclimate himself to village work as soon as possible.

In the past two years, Party Committee of Yanchi Town has given endless support and care for Zhang Guiyan both in work and life, for which Feng was grateful, on behalf of CUEB Party Secretary. Additionally, Feng also encouraged Ou to adapt himself to the work in the village, have a better understanding of rural area and give full play to his advantages so that great contributions will be made for poverty alleviation in the decisive stage of realizing a well-off society in an all-round way by 2020.

After the meeting, Feng and his colleagues visited poverty-stricken elderly in the village and gave presents and best wishes to those over 70 years old.
