On June 5th, alumni liaison appointment conference of graduates of the class of 2019, themed as “stick to your dreams and take on responsibilities”, was held in the lecture hall of Boxue Building, in which 185 representatives were appointed as alumni liaisons. Ding Lihong, Vice President of CUEB attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

These liaisons were picked from all graduates, among whom 135 undergraduates out of 2723 and 50 postgraduates out of 1136. They will perform as a bridge between their alma mater and schoolmates, strengthening communication and serving the alumni.

Ding expressed celebration and appreciation to them. As he pointed out, alma mater and alumni, who share weal and woe, are closely related to each other, forming a community of shared future. Besides, alumni are a precious asset and it was CUEBers’ diligence and devotion that contributed to its fine tradition and spirit. As time goes by, people will understand what “alumni” truly means to them. Alumni are like scattered pearls while an alumni liaison is the one who strings them with responsibility and glory. He also hoped that every liaison could remember the theme of the conference, cherish the glory, connect alumni and alma mater and fulfill their duties so that they could enjoy a happy and leisurely life in the future.

Zhao Xiling, Director of Office of Cooperation Affairs and Vice President & Secretary of Alumni Association demonstrated duties of alumni liaisons and shared her own experience of being a liaison. She stressed that a liaison was supposed to carry out duties, including helping graduates keep contact with the university and building up a warm and respectable CUEB. She also said that as U-Disk could symbolize liaisons’ honorable identity and their duties of collecting and carrying out basic information of alma mater and alumni, a special gift ---a card U-Disk with exclusive avatar and school information was presented to alumni liaisons.

Liu Tingru, graduate in enterprise management of the Class of 1988, delivered a keynote speech. He also made an introduction to Infotech Ventures Co., Ltd and Beijing Star River Foundation founded by himself.

Liu Tingru, Zhao Xiling and Party Vice Secretary and counsellors of each school issued letters of appointment, card U-Disks and alumni service brochures.

On behalf of AA, Zhao gave Liu a book as a gift, which was about friendship and life. In an activity named Time Post Office, initiated by Camel Bell Alumni Development Association which was guided by AA, allowed all graduates to write a warm letter to the freshman to pass on the camel spirit of CUEB. At last, graduates wrote letters full of hope to themselves 10 years later, which will be shown to them on 2029 Alumni Homecoming Day.

Hosted by Shao Lili, Vice Director of Office of Cooperation Affairs and Vice Secretary of AA, over 200 people attended the conference, including alumni liaisons of the Class of 2019, all staff of AA and student volunteers.
