On September 5, the opening ceremony for 2019 graduates was held in the gymnasium. Feng Pei, Secretary of the Party Committee of CUEB, President Fu Zhifeng, Xu Fang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CUEB, Vice Presidents Ding Lihong and Wang Chuansheng, Xing Qi, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Head of Commission for Discipline Inspection, and leaders of various schools, some postgraduate tutors and all new graduate students attended the opening ceremony. Vice President Wang Yonggui presided over the ceremony.

In the melody of the school song, the new students entered the gymnasium orderly. Before the ceremony, the students carefully watched the video of My Motherland and I and the school song.

The opening ceremony began with the grand national anthem. Fu Zhifeng, on behalf of the university, all staff and students expressed warm welcome to the arrival of new graduate students. He said, CUEB would live up to the trust of students and provide a good environment for research. At the same time, he hoped that students can aim high, study hard, master concrete skills and exercise strong physique so that they can make good use of time to achieve excellent results.

On behalf of all the graduate tutors, Professor Zhao Jiazhang of the School of Economics, congratulated and welcomed the new students. In his speech, he put forward three suggestions: First, set goals, study hard and make good use of the resources of the school and Beijing. Second, keep academic enthusiasm, not only study hard but also communicate with others. Third, cultivate an international perspective, pay attention to China's problems and find research direction from China's development.

Yang Yeqing, a 2018graduate student from College of Business Administration, welcomed new CUEBers. She shared her experience in school, telling them not to be afraid of the repetition of life, but to improve themselves through day-to-day study and research; not to be afraid to explore, but to take advantage of the platform and opportunities provided by the school; not to be afraid of teachers, but to ask for advice and work hard.

Xu Fang wore the school emblem for Zhou Xinyue, a 2019 graduate student of School of Labor Economics. Zhou Xinyue expressed gratitude in the speech for the help of leaders, teachers, senior students. She said that as the new generation of CUEB, students knew their responsibilities. They should roll up their sleeves and work hard to fulfill their promises of youth with enthusiasm and hope. Then she led the new students to take an oath.

At the end of the opening ceremony, all the teachers and students sang a chorus of "My Motherland and I" to celebrate the birthday of our motherland.

After the opening ceremony, Feng Pei delivered a vivid lecture to all the postgraduate students. With the theme of "My Motherland and I Strive Forward Together", Feng analyzed the history of China and the historical mission of the contemporary youth in the light of the century-old development of China and the general trend of international and domestic development. Feng Pei encouraged all new graduate students to reverberate their dreams of youth with the Chinese dream, and to achieve good results in the process of pursuing their dreams.

Next, all graduate students will have a one-day intensive admission education, learn about the history of CUEB, campus culture, receive scientific and moral education, and study the postgraduate training system, policies, etc., so as to lay a good foundation for future study and life.
