On September 24th, CUEB held a middle-level cadres meeting in Academic Report Hall of Boyuan Building. Party Secretary Feng Pei summarized the major work in the first half year of 2019, and arranged major tasks in the second half year. President Fu Zhifeng hosted the meeting.

On his statement, Feng pointed out that CUEB, firmly strengthening the virtue through education, has achieved significant progresses in all respects under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), especially in the main line of celebrating the 70th anniversary of China. In the first half year of 2019, CUEB developed in the aspects of exercising strict Party discipline, promoting all-round development and constructing service system. CUEB also improved its personnel training system and made breakthroughs in discipline construction and social services.

Feng stressed that all faculties in CUEB should do well in the following four aspects.

First, CUEB should give their best shot to the preparation and guarantee of the 70th anniversary of the founding of China. CUEB should carry out the educational activity themed as “Forged Ahead with My Motherland” and stimulate the enthusiasm of the teachers and students to engage in the activities, thus creating a strong atmosphere of celebrating the birthday of our motherland.

Second, we should carry out the education campaign themed as “Staying True to Our Founding Mission”, which focuses on political construction, trouble-orientation and development of school under the fundamental task of deeply learning and implementing the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. CUEB should grasp the general requirements for staying true to our original aspiration, shouldering our missions, finding the gap and implementing them. Therefore, CUEB could do well in education and inspection of Grassroots Party branches.

Third, CUEB should steadily promote its overall development. CUEB should continue to promote professional structural adjustment, and focus on promoting core competitiveness of disciplines and professional construction through such reforms as enrollment and training of disciplines with large-scale students. In this way, CUEB can lay a good foundation for the fifth round of discipline evaluation. With strengthening the virtue through education as its core, CUEB should continue to improve the quality of its students and advance its capacity and influence to serve Beijing, even to China.

Fourth, CUEB should strengthen the construction of cadres and teachers and build a high-level teaching staff. CUEB started the reform of salary distribution system, revised the regulation of efficiency wages to carry out a new policy of “doing more to achieve more”. CUEB initiated a new round of recruit of managers, other technical and engineering staffs.

President Fu Zhifeng delivered a speech that focused on “the 13th Five-Year Plan” to build CUEB a first-class university in domestic and internationally renowned university featured with finance and economy. He also illustrated and deployed regulations on disciplines and profession construction, personnel training, construction of teachers and reform of salary system. He emphasized that discipline construction was the most important work of school. Standing on a high position with unifying forces, CUEB persisted in discipline development that attached great importance to all disciplines but focused on some. Talent cultivation is the central task of the school. Grasping the opportunity of “Double 10000 Initiative”, CUEB will promote the reform of enrollment and training reforms for large-scale students, continue to improve the quality of students by building first-class profession, optimizing professional structure and advantages. The foundation of CUEB lays on a high-level teaching staff. Therefore, CUEB will advance in-depth human resources reform based on “doing more to achieve more”, design salary reform regulations to stimulate the vitality of the teachers.

President Fu Zhifeng emphasized that departments should carefully carry out the tasks planned in the meeting and ensure that all tasks can be accomplished well. All staffs should immerse themselves in making CUEB better and acquiring great progresses based on the educational theme of “Staying true to our founding mission”.

CUEB leaders put forward specific requirements on campus security.

Also present at the meeting are other school leaders, including the Standing Committee members of the Party Committee of CUEB, cadres at the level of deputy director and above, the representatives of People’s Congress at all levels, who are not staff in CPC, CPPCC members and the leaders of the democratic parties in grassroots.
