Zhang Ziyue, Student of School of Culture and Communication, Won the Third Prize in the Journalism Category of the Sixth National College Students ' Economic Journalism Competition
On November 9th, the Eighth National Seminar on the Reform and Development of Economic Journalism and the Sixth National College Students' Economic Journalism Awards were held at the Beijing Technology and Business University. Zhang Ziyue won the third prize in the journalism category in the competition for her work "Promoting the Scale, Intensification and Standardization of Rice Industry-Polished Round-Grain Rice Futures Coming". Economic Daily Press is a unit and student practice base jointly built by the Department and the School of Culture and Communication of our university. Zhang Ziyue , has participated in the Northeast Polished Round-Grain Rice futures research activities in 2019 summer vacation during her internship in the Economic Daily Press. Through field visits and interviews with a number of enterprises, she was deeply aware of the importance of the rice industry. At the same time, she fully recognized that the listing of Polished Round-Grain Rice futures will be conducive to the growth and strengthening of the dominant enterprises and the improvement of the industry, as well as to the promotion of the minimum-purchase-price-policy for rice, thus to alleviate the national burden and form a market-based pricing mechanism, so as to provide a strong guarantee for national food security. At the award ceremony, the chairman of the jury, China Economic Media Association Chairman Zhao Jian fully affirmed the entries. He believed that the professional news writing ability of the students has been improved and they can use new media technology for integrated reporting. At the same time, he pointed out that the entries also showed the students 'incapacities of deep background digging on major issues, unconvincing in story-telling, the obvious pattern and procedure writing style, and lack of enough data in news reports.
It is reported that the competition is jointly organized by the China Economic Media Association, the Research Committee of Applied Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Society of Journalism History, and the Beijing Technology and Business University. It is sponsored by more than 30 colleges and universities with a major in journalism and communication, and co-sponsored by the Journalism Department of the Beijing Technology and Business University and the Economic Journalism Research Center. The aim is to provide a platform for students to showcase their professional abilities and achievements, to increase students' enthusiasm for their profession, and to create an interactive platform between schools and media groups nationwide. The competition is held every two years, and the excellent economic news works collected and written by college students in the past two years are selected and evaluated.
