On November 9th, the “Co-construction Conference Between the Schools of Marxism and the Contemporary Chinese Marxist Reading Activity Pilot Units” was held by Publicity Department of Beijing Municipal Committee. Du Feijin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Minister of Publicity Department of Beijing Committee of the CPC attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. Feng Pei, Party Secretary of CUEB, Liu Guanjun, Dean of the School of Marxism Studies, attended the conference and Feng Pei spoke as the representative of the School of Marxism Studies.

According to the Notice on the First Group of Key Schools of Marxism List Issued by the Publicity Department of Beijing Committee of the CPC and the Education Work Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, School of Marxism Studies in CUEB was selected as the first group of key schools in Beijing. There are 8 universities on the list, of which CUEB is the only university run by the Beijing municipality.

Notice on the Contemporary Chinese Marxist Reading Activity Pilot Units List Issued by the Publicity Department of Beijing Committee of the CPC and Work Plan on the Co-construction Between the Schools of Marxism Studies and the Contemporary Chinese Marxist Reading Activity Pilot Units were also read out at the conference. According to these notices, School of Marxism Studies in CUEB will adopt Peer One on Ones to conduct work with the Party Committee of the Majiapu Times Sailing Building in Fengtai District.

Feng Pei made his speech as the first representative at the conference. On behalf of CUEB Party Committee, Feng Pei expressed his gratitude to Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Publicity Department of Beijing Committee of the CPC and Education Work Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC for the successful access to the first group of key Schools of Marxism in Beijing. He said that CUEB Party Committee will highlight the construction of Marxism theory discipline and ideological and political theory courses as usual, further boost the School of Marxism Studies to stand in the forefront of universities run by the Beijing municipality.

When talking about the co-construction work with the Party Committee of the Times Sailing Building, Feng Pei pointed out that he will give full play to the advantages of CUEB and the construction of Marxism theory discipline to provide intellectual support and theoretical guidance for the reading activities. By doing that, a joint construction, reading and sharing cooperative model was formed. After the co-construction conference, Feng Pei and Han Qing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Times Sailing Building, discussed the next work plan for the co-construction activities.

According to Opinion on Strengthening the Construction of Schools of Marxism and Notice on the Construction of Key Schools of Marxism in Beijing Issued by the Publicity Department of the CPC and the Ministry of Education, the Publicity Department of Beijing Committee of the CPC and the Education Work Committee of Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC determined the first group of key Schools of Marxism through careful review and field visits. School of Marxism Studies in CUEB will formulate key construction plans to enhance the construction of Marxism theory discipline and ideological and political theory courses.
