President Fu Zhifeng Meets Delegation from Brunel University London
On November 21st, Fu Zhifeng, President of CUEB, met with Prof. Thomas Betteridge, Vice President of Brunel University London. The two sides exchanged views on the establishment and promotion of inter-school cooperation.
Fu Zhifeng welcomed Betteridge's visit and gave a brief introduction to CUEB, including the school ranking, the recruitment of students, students’ intention for foreign studying and other aspects. Fu said that CUEB had signed a MOU (memorandum of cooperation) with Brunel University London. The two sides also expected to develop students’ communication project and strengthen cooperation in the areas of exchanges of teachers, and academic & scientific cooperation.
Betteridge gave a brief introduction to Brunel University London, including the school's overview, preponderant subjects, and international exchanges. He said that CUEB is an important partner of Brunel University London, and hoped that the two schools will have in-depth communication and exchanges, carry out characteristic student exchange programs, and further promote international cooperation between the two universities.
Xie Haixia, Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange Office said the two schools began to cooperate from the teacher exchange programs to further promote the development of student exchange programs. Xu Jiangbo, Party Secretary of the School of Accounting, made a brief introduction to the curriculum of the college and the situation of the students, and put forward some ideas on the student exchange programs that could be set up, including“2+2” Program (a double degree program in CUEB and Brunel University London for two bachelor degrees) and “3+1+1” Program (3 years of undergraduate study at CUEB, 1 year of graduate study at Brunel University London and then spending 1 year in obtaining a doctorate at Brunel University London). Chen Fengxian, Deputy Dean of School of Finance, introduced the academic distribution of the college, the recruitment of students, the status of graduates abroad and the ongoing international cooperation projects. Chen Honghai, Deputy Dean of the Overseas Chinese College, proposed that our students are willing to go abroad, and the rate of studying abroad is also increasing year by year. Brunel University London can adopt some targeted policies to attract more students for further study. Betteridge expressed strong willingness to cooperate with the School of Finance and the School of Accounting. The two sides will further facilitate “2+2” Program, “3+1+1” Program and Teacher’s Exchange Program to deepen the cooperation.
