Alumna Wu Wei, CFO of Alibaba, Donates CUEB ESG Project

On September 10th, Wu Wei, Chief Financial Officer & Head of Strategic Investment Group, graduate of Class 1990, donated 100,000 RMB to CUEB Education Foundation for the first time, and, she will continuously donate a total of 500,000 RMB within 3 years to CUEB ESG research and application.

Wu Wei said that it is of great significance to promote the idea of ESG and enterprise practice against the background of the world pattern. The establishment of CUEB ESG Institute, with great mission, is to help the sustainable development of Chinese market. She would like to share with students about what she has learnt form the practice of ESG projects in Alibaba Group.

CUEB ESG Institute was supported by the initiation of alumni and their related enterprises such as FIRST CAPITAL and Infotech Ventures Co.,Ltd. FIRST CAPITAL signed a cooperation contract with CUEB, hoping to innovate the combination of Industry-University-Research and making contributions to the high-quality development of Chinese economy. At present, all the work is proceeding in an orderly manner.

 

Alumni Profile

 

Wu Wei, graduate in accounting major of School of Finance and Accounting of Class of 1990. She is a member of the Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) of UK and was a partner of KPMG Beijing office. She joined Alibaba Group in July, 2007 as a Chief Finance Officer and gained an additional job as head of Strategic Investment Group. In 2010, she was prized as “Best CFO” in the competition of Best China Deal in a financial magazine Finance Asia . In 2018, she was prized as one of the Top 100 Female by Forbes .
