On September 29th, the National Commendation Conference for Fighting COVID-19 was held on Beijing Conference Center. In the conference, the decision was read out to commend the Role Models and Advanced Collectives by Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Beijing Municipal Government, meanwhile to commend the Excellent Communist Party Members and Excellent Primary-level Communist Party of China (CPC) Organizations by Beijing Municipal Party Committee. Altogether 1001 Role Models, 308 Advanced Collectives, 120 Excellent Communist Party Members and 100 Primary-level Communist Party of China (CPC) Organizations were commended. Lu Meng, Director of Security Office was awarded as “Beijing Role Model in Fighting Against COVID-19”. 

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Lu Meng, who is in charge of CUEB COVID-19 management and control, has achieved the goal of “No COVID-19 cases in CUEB and zero infection between teachers and students” and build a safety line for the prevention and control of COVID-19 through resolutely implementing the related spirits of CUEB Party Committee and administrated teams and the requirements of CUEB’s epidemic-control office, and leading the team of Security Department to cooperate with related campus’ departments. 

In January, the COVID-19 suddenly outbroke, CUEB immediately initiated Wartime Control. In June, the outbreak rebounded in Xinfadi market, which is just 3 miles from CUEB. CUEB launched the highest and strictest campus prevention and management control. For all the time, Lu Meng, as a member of Communist Party of China, gave full play to the exemplary model, led the team to formulate campus management and control strategies in a timely manner and innovated technical control methods to promote the joint prevention and control of CUEB, thus to erect a first line of the defense for CUEB. During the entire epidemic prevention and control period, he lived at school and stayed at the frontline to fight against pandemic, interpreting the dedication and original aspiration of a Party member.

Lu Meng said that “A brick can’t build a wall; a wood can’t build a house”, I am just one of the members who remained committed to the COVID-19 prevention and control work. The honor is the affirmation to the leading work of CUEB Party Committee and all efforts of CUEBers. As the first line of the defense for CUEB epidemic prevention and control, we will conduct the education themed with “Taking Responsibility and Striving for Future”, and endeavor to protect our campus together with teachers and students.
