From December 7th to 8th, the 8th National Student Physical Health Standard Test Event was held in about 36 universities and colleges in Beijing.  Class 1 of Grade 2019 and Class 2 of Grade 2020 in School of Economics were sent to attend this event. Finally, CUEB ranked the 3rd in Freshmen Group, the 7th in Sophomore Group, the 7th in comprehensive performance and won the Best Organization Prize. What’s more, student Zhang Haotian won the 4th prize in Sophomore Group, a great honor for CUEB.

Aiming to implement the spirit of Opinions on Strengthening School Physical Education and Promoting the Comprehensive Development of Students' Physical and Mental Health (〔2016〕No. 27) issued by National Development and Reform Commission and Plan of Health China 2030 and have a full knowledge of undergraduates in capital universities, Beijing Municipal Education Commission took a lead in hosting National Student Physical Health Test Event. It is an important activity that strictly complies with the test standard by using the same test instrument with the same people to check students at the same time and in same place. Therefore, measures can be carried out to advance sports in schools so as to ensure the physical and mental health of the students for their comprehensive growth. 

This year marks the ninth year of National Student Physical Health Standard Test in capital universities and colleges and the opening year for the fourth-round test event of universities and colleges in Beijing. Due to the impact of pandemic and requirements of Epidemic Prevention and Control in Beijing, the event was conducted offline and each university can organize the test in the optional time from December 7th to December 8th in their own university. The Organizing Committee held Team Leaders Meeting and Judges Meeting online to deploy assignments. Offline tests were held within the selected time of each institution’s choice. Judges were sent by Committee to check the participant students and process of test and the test data were collected. There were 36 universities and colleges in the Capital and 2166 students actually participated. The test time arranged by CUEB was from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on November 8th and a total of 68 students, including 37 students of Class 1 in Grade 2019 and 31 students of Class 2 in Grade 2020 of School of Economics attended the event.

The Division of Physical Education in CUEB attached great importance to this competition and immediately carried out relevant preparations, with great support by leaders and students from the School of Economics. He Kai, Director of the Division of Physical Education, Li Gongyu, Party Secretary of the Division of Physical Education, Wang Changyou, Vice Director of the Division of Physical Education organized the students to attend this event at once and cheered for them. In order to better display their capabilities, teacher Liao Yangang guided students to conduct a two-week training, and the preparations were carried out in an orderly manner. Before the test, students did warm-up together; during the test, students tried their best to complete each activity, showing the enterprising and brave spirit of CUEBers.
