Two Teachers Honored as Beijing Distinguished Teacher and Beijing Distinguished Young Teacher Respectively

According to the Announcement of Winners List of the 2020 Beijing Distinguished Teacher Award in Higher Education released by Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Zhang Shijun, Professor of the School of Law in CUEB was awarded the 16th Beijing Distinguished Teacher Prize in higher education, and Fan Wei, Professor of School of Labor Economics was awarded the 4th Beijing Distinguished Young Teacher Prize in higher education. After university nomination, candidates went through experts’ panel evaluation and expert committee ballot to make the winning list, which was made public after verification by Beijing Municipal Education Commission.

 

The Announcement encourages universities and colleges to build a strong faculty and improve incentives & disincentives tailored for the teaching faculty. The winning teachers are also expected to serve as role models encouraging the devotion of teachers at all levels and of different subjects to education and talent nurturing in general. Individual and team teaching capacity is sure to be boosted as a result.

 

Zhang Shijun, male, Han ethnicity, was born in 1976. He is a Communist Party member, holding the degree of Doctor of Laws. Now Professor Zhang is the Dean of School of Law in CUEB, also the doctoral supervisor. The courses he taught for undergraduate students include: Economic Law, Company Law, Bankruptcy Law, Comparative Law, Economic Law on Foreign Business, Commercial Law, Legal Research and Thesis Writing, etc. The courses for graduate students include A General Introduction to Commercial Law, Comparative Studies of Bankruptcy Law and Monographics Studies on Commercial law. His main research areas are Economic Law, Civil and Commercial Law and their cross-fields.

Fan Wei, male, is a Communist Party member, holding the degree of Doctor of Laws. Since July 2009, Professor Fan has been teaching in CUEB and is currently the Deputy Dean of School of Labor Economics. The courses he taught for undergraduate students include Labor Legal System, Comparative Studies on Labor Legal System (Bilingual), Labor Connections, etc. The courses for graduate students include Labor Law, etc. He is mainly engaged in studies on labor relations and labor law, prevention and treatment of labor disputes and old-age insurance and other issues.
