CUEB Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission Chen Caiqun Gives Lecture on Integrity Education for PhD Students
Doctoral degree is the highest level of degree that a student can earn, and PhD students play a key role in the scientific research innovation and the building of high-level research universities. In order to enhance PhD students’ awareness of discipline and help them consciously accept supervision, on December 22nd, CUEB Member of Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission and Supervision Department Chen Caiqun gave a lecture on integrity education for more than 100 PhD students of Grade 2020, so as to lay a foundation for their scientific research and life with integrity and self-discipline.
Themed as “China’s Practice and Experience of Anti-corruption and Clean Government Building”, Chen Caiqun spoke from Mao Zedong and Huang Yanpei’s famous “Cave Dwelling”, took into consideration the measures of strict Party self-governance in every respect since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, to the latest requirements of the reform of supervision system and his work experience and school reality, and reviewed the historical path of anti-corruption practice and clean government building through a large number of data and cases. He focused on reviewing the Party’s experience in adhering to and improving the supervision system since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, and ensuring that the power entrusted to us by the Party and the people is truly exercised for their benefits. He introduced the main methods and results of the school’s reform of the discipline supervision system of colleges and universities in Beijing. Meanwhile, based on the characteristics of young students, he suggested to PhD students that they should have a good understanding of the policies and interests of China, firmly establish a sense of discipline, and give full play to their strengths for the great missions.
Integrity education for PhD students is not only the requirements of CUEB leaders to contact teachers and students closely through ideological and political education lectures on the podium, but also to strengthen the publicity of discipline, and push forward a coordinated system under which people don’t dare to, are unable to and have no desire to commit acts of corruption. This activity is close to the identity and growth reality of young students, so that students can have a deeper understanding of integrity and maintain the features of integrity and self-discipline, and be loyal to the Party and the country. In the future, the school’s Discipline Inspection Commission and Supervision Department will continue to create methods to attract more teachers and students to participate in the school’s democratic supervision, research of the publicity and supervision of discipline, and respond to the concerns and expectations of teachers, students and staff.
