On May 10, CUEB Party Secretary Han Xianzhou met Deputy Chief Editor of the Economic Daily Press (EDP), Ji Zhengju and his colleagues in Hechang Hall of Boyuan Building. CUEB Deputy Party Secretary Xu Fang also attended the meeting. 

Han Xianzhou firstly welcomed Ji Zhengju’s arrival, and then introduced the campaign on CPC history learning and education conducted in CUEB, as well as the construction of Training Base for Economic News Talents in School of Culture and Communication through joint efforts by the Press and the School. Han said that CUEB is focusing on establishing a base of Research Center of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, hoping to have further exchanges and cooperation with EDP in researching and illustrating Xi Jinping thought on the economy of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and construction of Beijing’s “Two Zones and Three Platforms” and other aspects.

Later, Ji introduced EDP’s work on illustrating Xi Jinping thought on the economy of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. In addition, he hoped to further promote cooperation in theoretical research, so as to achieve high-level research results. 

After the meeting, Ji Zhengju and his colleagues visited CUEB’s Home to Party Members and School History Museum. 

Then, invited by the School of Culture and Communication (SCC), Ji Zhengju made a keynote lecture on CPC history, entitled “Forging ahead with Historical Consciousness and Responsibilities: Learning Sishi (namely, four periods of history including history of the Communist Party of China, New China, Reform and Opening up and Socialism) as Required Courses”. In his report, Ji mentioned that lessons from history are successful experience and distinctive features of Marxist political parties. Moreover, he expounded on the significance of learning Sishi for Party members and put forward his own suggestions for this campaign. He pointed out that by learning Sishi, Party members could remain committed to their original aspiration and mission, practice the “Four Matters of Confidence” (Confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics) and development path; further clarify advantages of the Communist Party of China, Marxism and socialism with Chinese Characteristics. Finally, Party members continue to establish scientific historical thinking and research method, work together to advance social evolution and embrace challenges in the future. 

In order to achieve practical effects on education in days ahead, the general Party branch of SCC will continue to conduct distinctive educational practices by integrating the education on the CPC history into fundamental task of fostering character and civic virtue and SCC’s substance development. Members of School of Culture and Communication Theoretical Center Group and faculties of the Party attended the lecture.
