CUEB Holds the Fifth Food Season

On May 26, “the food gathering exhibition” was held on the second floor of Canteen No.3, marking the successful conclusion of the fifth food season in CUEB for a month. President Fu Zhifeng and Vice President Sun Haozhe attended this activity, and awarded prizes to the winners.

 

In the speech, Fu Zhifeng pointed out that the food season activity in CUEB is a featured platform for logistics service. It can not only cultivate the skills of students in cooking, but also promote exchanges between students and logistics staffs, so as to enhance mutual understanding and jointly transmit culinary culture. He hoped that logistics service, students and Labor Union would work closely to continuously improve service and jointly build a beautiful, harmonious and livable campus.

 

 

At the beginning of the activity, two short films vividly reviewed the wonderful moments of the student cooking competition during the food season. On April 28 and 29, the student cooking competition opened the prelude of this gourmet season. More than 40 contestants from 24 groups showed off their skills. After fierce competition, eight teams reached the final under careful tasting and appreciating by the Logistics Catering Service Center and the Living Interests Department of Student Union. After a peak showdown on May 12, it was decided who was the "Chef in CUEB" of the fifth Food Season.

 

 

 

 

 

“Small dining table, great civilization”. During the fifth Food Season, teachers and students share skills to make full use of ingredients and avoid waste. They learn the knowledge of garbage classification, discuss the concept of a healthy life, and enjoy the fun of cooking together. On the message board, teachers and students signed the promise of “opposing waste and practicing thrift”.

 

 

The food carving themed with “Youths in CPC 100th anniversary forging ahead with the Party into a new era”, and the cake themed with “Showing even stronger vigor and vitality at CPC 100th anniversary” are to honor the centenary of the Party. “Red Army meal” (i.e. simple and coarse foods, such as pumpkin soup, steamed sweet potatoes and taro, eaten in harsh conditions) in Gutian, a village in Shanghang County, Fujian Province, where the historic Gutian Congress Resolution was adopted, reminds us of the bitterness and sweetness of CPC, making us stay true to the original aspirations. A variety of foods perfectly integrating tradition with modernity, show the glorious history of Chinese catering civilization in five thousand years.

 

 

 

Zhang Tong, Director of the Party and Government Office, Fu Lin, Executive Vice Director of the Publicity Department of CUEB Party Committee, Li Xiaoou, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and Meng Yifang, Vice President of Graduate School, as well as more than 50 students participating in this cooking competition and staffs from Logistics Service Sector participated in the “food gathering exhibition” to taste the unique flavor in CUEB.
