Mid-Autumn Festival is a day for reunion. On September 21st, CUEB Office of Student Affairs hosted a film screening activity to celebrate the festival, enrich students’ life and help new CUEBers feel at home. More than 600 students took part in the activity.

The film for the evening was Cloudy Mountain. The story happens in the country town of Yunjiang, Yunnan province, when global geologic changes brought about a disaster to the town endangering the lives of 160,000 locals. Aides including firemen, pilots, and infrastructure staff who rushed to the rescue. The saying goes “There are no heroes who fall from the sky, only people who stand up to fight”. In the film, Chinese infrastructure staff represented by Mr. Hong and his son, stood up to fight for the victims of the disaster, and saved the day.

This event was very popular among the students, and many students arrived earlier and some even stood throughout the film for all seats were occupied. They gained great strength from the common contributors who risked their lives to save others and anticipated more activities like this in the future.

The CUEB Office of Student Affairs has always been pursuing meaningful activities and providing ideological and political courses in a way that is more attractive to the students. The Office of Students Affairs had a new try to move the film screening from indoors to outdoors, and adjust the schedule from the weekends to the evening of Mid-Autumn Festival. They are confident of doing even better in the future.
