The theme is “Please the Party stay assured for the country has all of us to make it stronger”. Many school leaders and student representatives of all grades participated in this event: The Vice-president Wang Chuansheng, the Executive Deputy Director of the University Caring Next Generation Working Committee Zhao Fengqi, Minister of the CPC Division of Graduate Student Affairs Zhou Mingsheng, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee Li Xiao’ou, Deputy Minister of CPC Publicity Department Gao Fei, Deputy Minister of CPC Department of Student Affairs Ji Yanyan, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office and Director of Admissions Ding Zhiyan, Dean of the University Hospital Wang Xiaohong, Party Committees and the Deputy secretary of the General Party Branch from all schools. Wang Chuansheng, Zhao Fengqi, Zhou Mingsheng and Li Xiao’ou together launched the event.

Ding Jiaqi, a graduate student from the School of Business Administration, spoke on behalf of all students. She shared the experience of her six years studying at CUEB, from setting up the dream to be an excellent youth to devoting herself to our country, combining one’s own dreams with the cause of the country and the nation to strive toward becoming a qualified New-Era youngster nurtured by the Party and the country. She called for students to treasure every moment, follow the Party, and serve the people and our country sincerely and selflessly and finally to be an excellent youth who can make unremitting progress in their own field and make contributions to the society.

Witnessed by all guests and student representatives, Ding Jiaqi, on behalf of up to 5000 new students, added new age to the “Talent Pillars” in an air of solemnity.

On behalf of the freshmen, Zhang Shuqi from the School of Urban Economy & Public Administration and Guo Muyuan from the School of Finance recited the poem To be a Better student of CUEB, To Fight When You are Still Young. They swore solemnly in front of the “Talent Pillars”: As a CUEBer in the New Era, we need to fight for a goal, stand firmly on the right side of history, practice more and make contributions to the country; explore for new areas with courage, and never forget why we started and move forward whatever happens in the future. To be a better student of CUEB, to strive when you are still young. We keep in line at all times with the New Era!

Wang Chuansheng first expressed his sincere congratulations and a warm welcome to the freshmen in his speech. He told the students about what “Talent Pillars” would look like and what they symbolize. He mentioned that “Talent Pillars” symbolizes the glorious history of CUEB since it was founded in 1956. Pillars symbolizes the mutual support and coordinated development of the six major disciplines. They symbolize that CUEB cultivates all kinds of excellent talents to serve economic and social development. He encouraged freshmen to nourish a firm faith and strengthen the consciousness of commitment, to study hard and increase competences, to strive for personal growth and national rejuvenation in the same line, to grow up into an excellent talent in character and learning, being ready to dedicate oneself to the world with great gratitude.

Zhao Fengqi shared the growth story of CUEB by combining it with the glorious course of the Party's centennial struggle. He led the students in tracing the history of CUEB by outlining the development of CUEB from its establishment to the modern day. He hoped that students could understand the history and evolution of CUEB and the connotation of the university motto, cherish their time on campus, and constantly learn theories and professional skills to improve their comprehensive qualities, shoulder the responsibilities of the times, and contribute to the new journey of the second centennial struggle.

Finally, the representatives of 2021 freshmen visited the School History Museum in an orderly manner. The students all expressed that the arduous pioneering history of several generations of CUEB would encourage them to innovate and make continuous progress, and make their own contribution to the construction of CUEB. The new CUEBers would inherit and carry forward the Camel Spirit of CUEB, cast the soul of CUEB with practical actions, and pass on the school motto: "Advocate morality, value competence, strategize national development, and serve the people" from generation to generation.

The Minister of Student Affairs Department of the Party committee will be around the "Loyalty for the Party" Education Activity, deepening the launch of freshmen pilot project, continue to hold a series of Education Activities, guide freshmen to consolidate their ideals and beliefs, establish sound values, get used to the university life as soon as possible, and work hard for the ideals.
