On the morning of October 19th, the sixth round of the Mobilization and Deployment Meeting on the Inspection Work of CUEB Party Committee was held in Meeting Room 7 on the fifth floor of Bona Building. Han Xianzhou, Party Secretary of CUEB and leader of Party Committee’s Leading Group for Inspection Work, made a mobilization and deployment speech. The meeting was presided over by Wu Hui, CUEB Deputy Party Secretary.

Han Xianzhou emphasized that it is necessary to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech according to the report on the seventh round of the 19th Central Committee’s inspection and the spirit of the City’s Warning Education Conference. It is essential to see inspection work as a powerful tool for Party management and university governance to condense the thoughts of Party building which form the characteristics of CUEB. Inspection work will also be regarded as an important means of strengthening the university’s Party politically. In this way, the comprehensive promotion of ideological and political construction in curriculum and the construction of Beijing serving as the “four centers” are included in the inspection and supervision focus. 

On behalf of the CUEB Party Committee, Han Xianzhou affirmed the achievements of the fifth round of inspection, and put forward three requirements for the sixth round of inspection. First, we need to improve political positions while bearing in mind the country’s most fundamental interests so as to effectively enhance awareness of the importance of inspection work. Investigations on party organizations at all levels and in all leadership teams are required in strengthening Party discipline and implementing the Party’s organizational line in the new era through carrying out inspections in the university. Second, we should take problem-based approaches and focus on responsibilities and missions, carrying out political inspections and supervision accurately and effectively. It is essential to closely integrate the key decisions and plans of the CUEB Party Committee, and to realize that “inspections and supervision will follow the Party Committee’s decisions and plans”. We will closely follow the Party’s educational policy, stick to the socialist orientation in running schools, and implement the fundamental task of establishing morality and fostering people to find and correct political positions. Third, we must ensure the successful completion of this round of inspection with high standards and strict requirements. It is important to effectively enhance the sense of mission, responsibility, and urgency in inspections and rectifications so that we put a number of works together, including the support for inspections and Party history education, coordinated promotion of standard prevention and control of the pandemic, a deepening of the comprehensive reform of “all-faculty, whole-process, all-round” education system and the implementation of the system of responsibility for ideological work, eventually strengthening Party discipline down to the community level.

Wu Hui announced the decision to authorize the appointment of the leaders and the division of inspection tasks, as well as pointing out that the Party organizations being inspected should further carefully improve its political position and, according to the common issues found in “Chinese Communist Party Regulations on Basic Level Organization Work in Ordinary Institutions of Higher Education”, “Basic Standards of Party-Building Work in Ordinary Institutions of Higher Education” and in the seventh round of the CPC Central Committee’s inspection, and proactively cooperate with the inspection group with full support, conforming to the requirements of the CPC Central Committee, the Municipal Party Committee, and Party Central Committee of CUEB. We hope that living up to the school party committee’s guidance, the members of the inspection group will ensure effective work to provide a strong political guarantee for the high-quality development of CUEB. 

At the meeting, Zhang Tong, Director of the Party and Government Office and Director of the Inspection Office of the Party Committee, introduced the overall arrangement for the sixth round of inspections. Fang Yongming, the leader of the first inspection group, and Xie Xiaojuan, Party Secretary of the School of Economics, made speeches on behalf of the inspection groups and the Party organizations inspected respectively. 

Members of Party Committee’s Leading Group for Inspection Work, all members of the sixth round of the CUEB inspection groups, and the heads of Party and government and the liaison officers of the Party organizations inspected attended the meeting. After the meeting, all members of the inspection groups participated in the first round of group training.

According to the arrangement of the CUEB Party Committee, three inspection groups will be sent to carry out inspection works to six secondary Party organizations, including the Party Committee of the School of Economics, the School of Accounting, the School of Labor Economics, the School of Finance, the School of Foreign Studies, and the Party General branch of the Sports Department.
