On the afternoon of November 3rd, the Youth League Committee of CUEB held the 2021-2022 academic year opening ceremony for the School Communist Youth League and gave the first lesson of the new semester. CUEB Vice President Sun Haozhe delivered the first lecture titled “To Struggle and Take Responsibility”.

Through deep analysis about the current political landscape of the world, Sun Haozhe put forward his expectations and demands for the members by laying out three aspects: nation, university and individual. He suggested that young generations should develop a global vision, cherish their motherland, bear in mind their mission, and foster their role as modern citizens. They should keep forging ahead, preserve an enterprising spirit and develop themselves through the cause of “foster character and civic virtue through education”. They should also treasure every moment and seize opportunities to become competent in the process of study and practice.

Sun Haozhe interpreted the “Camel Spirit” for the students, and put forward a profound proposition on “How to be a qualified CUEBer”. He expects that students, whether in good times or bad, should be persistent and resolute, and live a colorful life with tenacity, courage and wisdom.

Li Xiaoou, Secretary of the Youth League Committee expressed three requirements in her speech. Firstly, members should enhance their political stance to clarify the significance of studying in the Communist Youth League. They should upgrade their ideological and ethical standards, build noble ideals and pursue political growth and progress. Secondly, members should cherish opportunities to absorb more knowledge and skills. Therefore, they should listen carefully, and think actively with full attention and participation. Thirdly, members should play a leading role among other students through sharing more information about what they have heard, seen and learned.

Sun Haozhe presented books to member representatives, encouraging all of them to work hard, and to complete various learning and practical objectives to a high standard. In order to shoulder the mission of national rejuvenation, they should keep an active mind when learning, proactively benefit from the learning, make use of knowledge after learning, and make a success through learning!

Sun Honghao, Minister of the Branch of Social Practice in the Youth League CUEB Committee, gave a brief introduction to the training program of the school Communist Youth League. There are five types of classes this semester: the “Qingma Project” (the training project for youth Marxists and student cadres), the “Service Station for Youth League Cadres”, “Freshmen Transformation Training Camp”, “Activist Training Class” and “Communist Youth League Workshop”. Teaching and activity methods, such as theoretical learning, live teaching, quality promotion, social practice, sharing and discussion, have been applied to cultivating students’ overall quality in a comprehensive and multidimensional method. Cheng Zitan, student in the “Qingma Project” and undergraduate from the School of Economics, gave a speech as a member representative. He believes that being a participant in the school Communist Youth League is not only a glorious identity, but a sign of responsibility. As a member of the Communist Youth League, one must be diligent in study, thinking, communication and practice in order to improve yourself and demonstrate the good performance of the young generations. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhao Xun, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of CUEB.
