In order to enrich campus life, advocate the Winter Olympic spirit, and inspire the whole student body, the Youth League Committee of CUEB held the first display activity of the 15th Club Culture Festival on the CUEB Square, the Youth Square, and the square in front of the No.3 Canteen on Wednesday, November 24th. 32 well-prepared clubs participated.

This festival is in line with the Winter Olympic theme: “ Great Passion for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Together for a Shared Future”.. Giving full play to the characteristics of the clubs, it serviced as an opportunity to publicize the Winter Olympic spirit and promote knowledge, so that CUEBers can better understand, join in, and devote themselves to the Winter Olympics.

The festival was filled with liveliness and vitality from the very beginning. Ice And Snow Association at the CUEB Square was the highlight, providing scaled-down curling venues available to students. Through the on-site experience of the floor curling and in ice Cuqiu, originating from ancient Chinese football-like game Cuju (literally kick ball), they learned a lot, and enjoyed it much. Meanwhile, the Entrepreneurship Development Association (EDA)of CUEB also provided a small-sized hockey arena which was opposite the curling venue. Some quizzes were specially designed for this festival to further the understanding of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as well as ice-sports, for example, a question-and-answer session and a game arranged by the Millions De Langues in which participants guessed the host cities through their Winter Olympic mascots.

Vigor and vitality pervaded the Youth Square, despite a cold winter. M-plex Dance Club had a show, attracting lots of students. The Karate and Taekwondo Club presents some challenging movements, such as kicking and splitting boards. Badminton and Table Tennis Club played an exhibition match. Students demonstrated their energetic youth through developing strong bodies in sports.

In front of the No.3 Canteen, the Red Cross members stood in a semicircle, and performed the Winter Olympic Theme Song: Together for a Shared Future in sign language, showing their expectations, which can be ranked as the most eye-catching activity.

Besides, all participants wrote down their blessings, prospects and hopes for the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on the display board, made by the Community Management Department, which expresses their determination to contribute to the Games and the university. CUEBers from all corners of the world brought warmth to the whole festival. When night fell and the festival was about to end, the board was covered with colorful notes.

The Department also prepared the mascots Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon to liven up the atmosphere in the venue. They were very popular with students who took photos with them one after another, which plays a role in promoting the Winter Olympics.

The festival fully demonstrates the good spirit and cultural heritage of the clubs in CUEB, and enriched the students’ cultural lives. There will be some special culture activities in the coming two weeks, for example, Live Music Night: “Great Passion for Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Together for a Shared Future”, Orienteering on Campus, Inspiring Classes, “Sakura Festival”, “CDA Birthday Party”, “the 11th IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) Student Case Competition”, Astronomy Exhibition, and the 10th Anniversary Exhibition of the Han Fu Club: “Recalling Old Dreams”.
