“Thank Mingsheng for his brilliant lecture about the details and risks in graduate enrollment management in recent years. This lecture will make the upcoming supervision of graduate enrollment more targeted.” Chen Caiqun, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commissioner of CUEB, said after the first “Face to Face Lecture for Heads” on March 22.

To ensure the sound implementation of major policy decisions by Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC and CUEB Party Committee, our university makes full use of effective supervision to ensure execution, achieve improvement and drive the reform of CUEB. At the same time, CUEB Commission for Discipline Inspection carried out this program to invite heads from different departments and secondary units to train cadres in the school’s discipline inspection and supervision.

What to train and how? To answer these questions, CUEB Commission for Discipline Inspection has already made a Study Plan, which focuses on key issues and sectors such as enrollment, employment, campus safety and sable development, as well as the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan and main responsibilities to comprehensively strengthen the Party discipline. It also requires heads from different departments and secondary units to report work in their own fields, problems and potential corruption existing in the implementation as well as precautions. In March, the program began with the enrollment issue. Zhou Mingsheng, Dean of Graduate School, Li Meiyu, Party Secretary of the Sports Department and Ding Zhiyan, Director of the Admission Office, invited by Commission for Discipline Inspection, gave special lectures about the entrance exam and enrollment of graduates, high-level sports team and undergraduates as well as work about the Second Bachelor Degree, upgrade from junior college student to university student, and successive education.

“Face to Face Lecture for Heads” program explores a new channel for discipline inspection and supervision cadres to learn about our university, improving their competences to discover and solve problems in reality. This program provides the basis for the supervision of the central work and key tasks of CUEB. In addition, it enhances the awareness of members from main departments in charge to fulfill their duties and prevent risks. Zhou Mingsheng said: “The preparation for the lecture and the process of sharing has helped me get all my work and existing risks into shape. I need to make sense of policies, figure out explicit ideas, analyze problems and present precautions. Through today’s program, I realize that the Commission for Discipline Inspection pays great attention to the enrollment management and that graduate enrollment matters a lot to educational equality. As a functional department responsible for the enrollment, we need to fulfill our supervision on each college well, ensuring the success of the open, fair, and just enrollment of CUEB.

It is reported that “Face to Face Lecture for Heads” program about the safety issue is under way. Based on lectures by relevant directors, cadres of the Commission for Discipline Inspection shall make in-depth studies on ideological security, campus safety, mental health of teachers and students, workplace safety, network information security, etc.
