On April 12, the Group of CUEB Party Committee Theory Learning Centre conducted a workshop on Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, learning and implementing the guiding principles of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics review and awards ceremony. Han Xianzhou, Party Sectary of CUEB, presided over the meeting.

Han Xianzhou highlighted that we should unwaveringly learn and understand the guiding principles of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping, deeply understand the remarkable achievements of Beijing 2022 and those beneficial experiences of this successful Olympic event, and at the meantime foster a better understanding of the spirit of Beijing Olympic Winter Games: bearing in mind the big picture, being confident and open, rising to the challenges, pursuing excellence, and creating a better future together. Therefore, for that to happen, we should:

Firstly, summarize successful experiences and honor teachers and students who have made outstanding contributions to Beijing 2022.

Secondly, cement the achievements, further dig out and generalize the unique experience and typical practices in the process of CUEB members serving and guaranteeing the Beijing 2022 Winter Games and Paralympics, so as to make it available and operational in the future.

Thirdly, adhere to the philosophy of “Broader Ideological and Political Education”. That also means we should, in line with the requirements of the university moral education in the new era and the construction of a personnel training system, integrate the spirit of the Games into ideological and political theory courses, curriculum ideology and politics, daily moral educations. Furthermore, it is also advisable for us to incorporate such spirit into the education system of CUEB. With all these efforts, we can well showcase and put forward the spirit of the Games.

Vice President Sun Haozhe also delivered a speech. Sun pointed out that we should deepen the understanding of the significance of this successful Olympic event and the spirit of the Olympic Winter Games. The successful Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games showcased the power of China and the strength of China’s socialist system. Also, the precious spirit and cultural heritage formed in the Olympic Winter Games greatly sustain the development of courses in China. Meanwhile, the spirit of the Games enriches the value of Chinese culture and the morality of CPC members. Sun also stressed that we summarize the results from CUEB in serving and guaranteeing the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics while recording the memorable moments of teachers and students during this event. What’s more, we should continue to seize the opportunities brought by the Games. The excellent performances of CUEBers in the service and guarantee of Beijing 2022 are the epitome of fostering virtue through education. And next, our priority should be to build voluntary service into an education platform where the philosophy of “Broader Ideological and Political Education” is the mainstay through leveraging the role of voluntary service in education.

During the group study and learning, the members of the CUEB Party Committee Theory Learning Centre Group all agree that the successful Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 is the result of the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the CPC with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, the wisdom and strength from all walks of life, which should attract the eyes of the country and the world. Being the first “dual-Olympic city” around the world, Beijing is expected to cherish and make full use of the rich legacy of Beijing 2022. Teachers and students of CUEB engaged themselves in the service and guarantee work of Beijing 2022 and successfully fulfilled their due obligations and tasks, making great contributions with CUEB characteristics to the successful event. Going forward, we will review what had been the past of Beijing 2022 in time, carry forward the spirit of the Olympics Winter Games Beijing 2022, so as to make achievements in a new era and forge ahead on a new journey.
