On April 29, given the complicated pandemic situation and China’s coming Youth Day, which falls on May 4, CUEB Party secretary and presidents conducted an off-line talk with students who stayed on campus about their learning and living conditions. Han Xianzhou, Party Secretary of CUEB, Fu Zhifeng, President of CUEB, and Sun Haozhe, Vice President of CUEB attended the talk, which was presided over by Wang Jinbao, Minister of Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee.
Han pointed out that CUEB will firmly strengthen campus services and life security with high attention on students’ demand and thanked all students for their support and appreciation to COVID-19 prevention and control. He put forward three expectations on students: first, to keep in mind both the internal and international situations and align the small dream of themselves with the big mission for national rejuvenation. Only by keeping with the times and advancing with the motherland can they better realize their full potential. Second, to correctly understand Chinese characteristics and international comparison, actively support capital anti-epidemic measures, deepen understanding of the institutional strength of socialism with Chinese characteristics and strive to be capable youth of a new generation who are well-prepared to join the socialist cause. Third, to firmly grasp the initiative to grow up with clear goals, do their best and adapt to the current way of learning and life positively just as China has done for economic growth though amid the outbreak. Finally, on behalf of the Party Committee and administrations of CUEB, Han expressed greetings to all students.
Fu stressed that the foothold of education management lies in the safeguard of students’ interests and the main work of school is to help students’ healthy development. He replied students’ questions on the spot with respective solutions. Fu suggested that down-to-earth management and service were supposed to be made by all departments to guarantee students’ life in school in an all-around way. For students with special difficulties, “one person, one policy” should be implemented to effectively solve their problems, so as to boost their happiness and security on campus.
Sun said that, caring about students’ study and life on campus, CUEB would do everything possible to help students solve difficulties and free them from worry. He hoped that students would adjust attitude actively and make good use of the time to study and keep exercising, jointly protecting our beautiful campus and looking forward to its vitality.
